I got the 4Tb version to upgrade from a 256Gb SSD. I have a 12 year old Lenovo G780 laptop that still runs like a champ, and rather then upgrade to an entirely new machine I’ve just been upgrading components.
This Verbatim 4Tb shipped slow, took about 3 weeks but they were up front in delivery expectations. Packaging was minimal which is always a plus.
The read/write speeds advertised are 550Mb/s read and 500Mb/s write. Crystal disk testing using 5 iterations shows its on par with expected speeds. Very pleased overall and at a GREAT price!
Used clonezilla to do a direct clone from my old SSD to new so no reinstalling Windows nonsense. After testing successful boot, I also needed to go into gparted live to move around the recovery partition to expand the main OS partition to take advantage of the full 4Tb free space.
No complaints here – As advertised, known brand, solid pricing, works and no nonsense. Thank you!

Added this to my system as a boot drive while keeping my old HDD as a storage drive. The SSD really makes a difference in system boot times. I could have gotten away with a 256GB drive as a boot drive but the cost of the 512GB was so close as to make it silly. So far very happy with the Verbatim drive.

Drive works great. It’s fast and an easy install. Bought it for extra storage on a new Mini PC that only came with a 500GB SSD.
I’m not saying it was me but I have a friend who ordered the 1TB version of this drive and when it got there after he installed it he realized they had accidently sent him a 2TB version. Sometimes you beat the house. =)

We are using these are replacment for laptop spining disk so the performance increase is very noticable. They also are having no compatibility issues so far.

I wanted a drive that was somewhat of a brand name compared with many
no name makes and models which are all from China.
The price is right for those others, but the warranty work also requires the end user to send these back to China. In Canada the price to send a parcel there is approx $100.00 much more than the drive is worth.
I have owned verbatim products before without issue so I anticipate many years of flawless usage from this hard drive.
