Albiorix –
I love this mouthpiece. After I received it I immediately felt a difference when playing in the lower registers of the instrument. The notes where clearer and the horn blew much more freely. On the other hand my upper range suffered for a few weeks as I became accustomed to the new mouthpiece. Thankfully this was only temporary. My range has recovered and sounds as good as ever.
Mariah Kallenbach –
It’s what was needed for my son and his middle school euphonium. He claims it’s a perfect fit and has no complaints.
AmazonProShopper –
It’s a shame that cheap mouthpieces don’t work well at all. For the higher end mouthpieces, this is cheap. We got it. It worked well for the 1 year my kid played the euphonium. Now it’s not being used ever again. On to the next adventure.

Great buy! Exactly as described. Came earlier than estimated. Works perfect for the trombone my middle school son is using for band.

Glad this was available on Amazon and saved me a trip to the music store!

I got this mouthpiece to use with a 0.5″ bore straight tenor trombone. The mouthpiece previously used was a King 12C. What I found was an immediate change in tone – now much more like that of a larger bore instrument. It has a “softer” quality with fewer harmonics – good for pieces like “Embraceable You” and “Stranger on the Shore” – (I’m an old-timer). But for pieces like “Brazil” or “Tuxedo Junction”, I prefer the “edgier” sound with the higher harmonic content of the 12C. If I had to choose only one, the choice would be tough. An additional observation is that, like some others have reported, my upper register abilities suffer when using the 6 1/2AL. Some trombonists say this is just evidence of a weak embouchre.
The mouthpiece, itself, is of very high quality – well finished. I’m quite pleased with it.
Edited to add: After using this mouthpiece for a few weeks, my upper register is building back up. The low register has better quality. Except for “jazzy” tunes, this is definitely an improvement over the 12C.

My son was gifted a family trombone, we just needed to replace the mouthpiece. This was a great price compared to the music store and it fit his trombone perfectly!
Marti Neal –
It’s a mouthpiece for a good trombone! This is a top of the line product. (Note: Sane mouthpiece comes in two shank sizes. Confirm shank size before you place your order.)
