Sony has a good YouTube video (title: M.2 SSD Installation for PS5 Console) that makes installing the WD Black SSD very easy. When you turn your PS5 on, it automatically walks you through the quick setup. I bought the 1TB SSD and for $100, it was worth the money. Plenty of storage for the games I have (Modern Warfare, MW2, GTA Online, Sniper Elite 5). If you’re worried about storage, get the 2TB SSD. My read / write speed was around 6,500 MB/s during install and it actually has 1TB of usable storage. One tip during installation, be mindful of the silver spacer under the small SSD screw. That spacer needs to be used with the screw to secure the SSD properly. The Sony video shows this of course, but it’s easy to overlook when you’re doing the install. It took me like 15 minutes, but I also cleaned all the dust out under both covers since I was already working on it I might as well clean it.

Put your mind at ease with anything Western Digital. I’ve been using WD for over a decade and have had 0 data issues and I beat up my gear. When I was upgrading my PS5 I didn’t even bat an eye and the price could not have been better. Super easy to install and you know it’s the best technology there is. Fast speed for gaming and I know it will live as long as my PS5. Overall 9/10

It took about 5 minutes to get this installed into my PS5 (including the time to disconnect/reconnect cables and get the drive formatted). The case was pretty easy to remove – once you have it flipped upside down with the power connector on your left, gently press down on the right side corner closest to you/the back of the device, and slide it to the left (also hold the left side corner furthest from you to make sure the cover doesn’t go flying). Remove a screw for the SSD slot, move the fitting where needed, and pop it all back together. The PS5 reported the read speed somewhere around 6500 once installed (can’t remember if it was 63 something or 66 something, but in that general range), and it gave me the option to install either/both PS4 and PS5 games to the SSD.

Bought this one after trying the Corsair m.2 for my PS5 which was slightly cheaper. It wouldn’t detect on my PS5 so I returned it and this one is quite literally plug and play. Every install video shows a “click” and a slight springiness but the Corsair m.2 had neither in my experience. This is the one you want for your PS5, unfortunately the prices reflect that they know that too.

Comprei e na questรฃo de entrega foi a do esperado atรฉ porque nรฃo foi a Amazon que entregou e sim a prรณpria vendedora ( obs: foi exportando antes da lei de taxaรงรฃo), quando recebi, nunca tinha tido uma encomenda amassada ou com a caixa estragada mas dessa vez fui premiado mas o item em si intacto pois veio muito bem protegido mas nรฃo deixa de ser falha dos correios รฉ claro. O uso e a velocidade que ele oferece รฉ surpreendente, perfeito para usuรกrio de ps5 ter um desse.
