Lucky Grrl –
My kitty was interested as soon as she saw the box, and she was really excited once I opened one of the pouches. The box contains eight pouches that are easy to tear open.
The cat food has a lot of broth, which is often the most exciting part of the meal for kitties in my household. The food is very moist and soft, so it’s easy for them to eat. There are small chunks of tuna throughout, but most of it is flaked.
I like that the product contains real tuna, and it’s grain free. There aren’t any artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives either. I can definitely feel good about serving this to my fur baby.
Each single serve pouch contains 1.4 oz which is a petite portion, so it’s ideal as a treat between meals or a meal topper. My kitty was still hungry after she ate hers, so she capped it off with some kibble before leaving her bowl. It was quite a hit, and I have no doubt that she will be anxiously awaiting the next serving of this yummy delight!

This is a pack of eight 1.4 oz pouches of Wellness Appetizing Entrees in flaked tuna, mackerel, and shrimp flavor. I have a bunch of cats, and Wellness is a terrific pet food brand, so I was very excited to have the opportunity to have the cats try this food. When you pour this food out of the pouch, it looks and smells like real food. Some of my cats won’t touch anything other than pate or mousse style food, so as is usual for them, they didn’t like it, or rather they wouldn’t try it because that’s just how they are. The other cats, though, like this just fine. The ingredients in this food are absolutely top notch. The issue with it is that it is a tiny, tiny portion. It’s supposed to be an entree, but it’s the size of a lickable treat pouch (not the tubes, they are even smaller, but the pouches). The instructions say to feed 6 to 7 of these pouches for every 6 to 8 lbs of body weight. Essentially that means that this 8 pack of pouches that costs $9.52 (as of the time I’m writing this) is just one day’s worth of food for an 8 lb cat. Maybe that’s okay for one small cat if you can afford almost $10.00 per day, but honestly I don’t even eat $10.00 of food per day myself, plus I have a whole bunch of cats, most of whom are in the 10 to 12 lb range. According to the instructions, my 17 lb chonker cat would need two full trays of this food per day, almost $20.00 worth, and that’s just one cat of several. So this food truly is great food, but realistically it’s more of a meal topper or a treat than an entree.

This looks like real food. It’s not mush or kibble. It has a fair amount of broth/liquid added which gets lapped up in addition to the food. There’s not a lot of food in each pouch, but it’s a great change of pace once in a while. I don’t see it being enough, or cost effective to feed so many pouches per day (especially if you have a large cat) but once in a while or as a treat is probably what this is best used for.
I do wish this wasn’t in a pouch, since it just creates a lot more trash compared to recyclable tins I usually get.

My wife and I usually give our pets the freshest foods, and in turn they seem to live pretty healthy, happy lives.
That said even if our cats are in overall great shape and not overweight they like to eat near EVERYTHING. Bits of fruits, greens, some veggies, animal proteins (of course!), and unfortunately our one cat has sometimes eaten products that have made her sick in the past, resulting in excessive vomiting and dehydration.
These wellness packs do a great job of providing both nutrition and hydration. While we normally don’t resort to anything but human grade pet food, we like keeping higher quality packaged food like this to help give them hydration and stimulate their appetite.
The ingredients are overall superior to that of other competitors. Zero byproducts, no grains, and the primary ingredients are mostly made up of the seafood that are listed as what is in the food. Our cats, unsurprisingly, loved it and inhaled it when we put it into their bowls.
I also think it comes at a more than reasonable price point as well (little over $1/pack).
5/5. Recommended.

Wellness is a good brand and I wanted to give it a try. My 2 cats eat another top brand which I won’t mention. They did not like this at all. Now, it’s hard to introduce a new food to pets, and maybe given more time, they might like it, but both of them sniffed it, took a few bites and that was it. I tried for a week, but they would not eat it. My review isn’t based on that alone though, because as we know, cats are picky! This food smells awful. Not that I can name a cat food brand that does smell good, but this one smells particularly bad. My cats sniffed it and literally jumped back slightly. It’s pungent. But, again let’s be honest, all cat food smells bad, right? These packets are very small, just 1.4 oz. Normally I use a 2.8 oz pouch and split it between my girls (so they each get the amount in one of these) , but with these I need one pack each. So be aware of the small amount. I just was not impressed with this, I will be sticking with my usual brand.
