Overall this seems to be a great product! I always try to get the best quality food I can thatโs not full of preservatives or additives and this brand so far ticks my boxes. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because my feline friends seem to be a little picky. They both eat it no problem but put the pate option in front of them and itโs devoured! Since I myself cannot be an authority on taste or texture, I guess I have to rely on the cats!! Bottom line is: I believe it to be a great product in terms of quality ingredients but my cats are just a little picky!!

My two indoor cats have been on an wet food diet for the past 4 years. I have tried many different brands of wet food until a few months ago when I switched to Wellness. My cats are not very picky, but they would occasionally refuse to eat if they don’t like the consistency/flavor. I have bought 6 cases of different flavors so far, and they seemed to enjoy most of them. I am happy with the switch and will continue to feed them Wellness because I noticed improvements in their digestion (they used to throw up occasionally, it doesn’t happen anymore) and in their coats (very shiny, no more dandruff).
All in all, they loved:
– Signature Chunky Beef & Chicken, Tuna & Wild Salmon, Cubed Tuna, and Shredded Chicken& Chicken Liver.
Didn’t like:
-CORE Whitefish and Salmon: They would it eat, but I’m never buying it again. It made their poop smell terrible every time they would have it.
-Cubed Chicken: Not a favorite, they would leave half the cubes in the bowl after licking the gravy.

The food is good and my cat likes it. The seller has an option for “Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24)” but they send 3 oz cans instead. Thats 45% less food for the same price.

I have fed this to my cat since adopting him at a little less than 1 year old from the local shelter. Within a few weeks there was a major change in his coat, it’s very beautiful and soft. He seems fantastically healthy and full of energy. I’m not sure if this is the food or genetics of course, but he even grew unexpectedly to be a very large cat (large as in tall, long, while still lean).
He developed a taste for this particular food, in the salmon or fish varieties, and I temporarily switched him to the 5.5 ounce Wellness CORE (its somewhat cheaper) but he did not care for it at all. He is a picky eater, but this is the one food he loves so much that he’ll immediately scarf it down.
My cat gets the best whenever I can give it to him, and from what I can tell, this is the best.

The best food you should be giving to your cats! They love it!

All of our cats had serious digestive issues so we went looking for “healthier” grain-free cat foods. All the cheap stuff uses plant proteins like wheat gluten or corn gluten. We settled on Wellness as a good compromise between price and quality (and easy can recycling). We liked the choice of several different textures and flavors for the cats. Others only have a couple flavors or only come as pate. We went with Gravies initially because our cats love gravy, but the Wellness Gravies were inconsistent. Sometimes the gravy was more oily (see picture). Other times there was barely any gravy and the food was very dry (see picture). The cats wouldn’t touch it when the food was dry. Also, the pieces in the Gravies can were cut very small (similar to the Minced cans). Our cats had trouble getting to all the food and we usually ended up tossing out half of every can. We switched to Morsels, which seem to have just as much gravy as Gravies. After four cans (Turkey & Salmon flavor), every bit has been eaten by happy kitties. The ingredients are slightly different. Morsels have spinach where Gravies use carrots. Both use ground peas, flaxseed, and cranberries… not sure that’s any better for cats than grains. Protein levels are the same, but Morsels are 5% fat vs. 3% in Gravies. Maybe that’s why our cats like Morsels better.

It’s hard finding something my picky cats like.

My cats (kittens, really, about a year old now) LOVE this product. They’ve eaten as much as two and a half 3 ounce cans each in one sitting (though I try to limit these to one in the morning, and one in the evening each). I’ve tried all kinds of wellness products – they grew up on wellness so I can’t talk to how a cat might transition to this product from something else. I’ve tried giving them the turkey recipe, the chicken and herring, the regular chicken (none of these were cubed), and the cubed turkey and they just love this recipe over everything else.
The first few days after we rescued them, they were REALLY sick – upper respiratory infections, diarrhea, the works – and their coats were so filthy we had to give them a bath as soon as we got them home. Their fur constantly stuck together as if it was sticky, even after we cleaned them. After a month of wellness for the male and a month and a half for the female, they literally look like they’re glowing now. Their fur looks great and they haven’t been sick since (it’s been a year!). I can’t say more positive things about this product.

My cat loves this flavor and consistency and I love that it comes in just the right size. She is small and I feed her one can in the morning and one at night so there are no leftovers to keep in the fridge. I have always associated Wellness with improved health in my previous cats.

I am updating my review, apparently no quality control for the ingredients, out of the blue Salmon now smells like rancid wild hog, very strong musky smell, my cats started scratching floor around it in attempt to cover it. “Best” cat food suddenly is not edible. Expiration for this batch is Jan 16 2027. No pork or beef listed in the ingredients, how come some rancid hog got into this food? I tried calling to Wellness customer service listed on the can, but they don’t pick-up. It says on the cans ‘100% guaranteed – love it or return it’ -but when I tried to submit return it showed not returnable.
Below was my original review. I thought I found food I will always be buying, but no, I need now to look for a different brand, or maybe even just start making it yourself.
This review is for Sliced Salmon Entree – it is the best canned food you can find,
my both cats eat it. Large cans (4 servings), NOT pate!
no grains
no meat-by-product
no artificial flavors or coloring
no carrageenan
no chicken
no liver
no vegetable/seed oils
no sweet potatoes or potatoes
no spinach or beets
and made in USA!
