I bought two of these refurnished expecting them to be reset to factory settings. They were not. As a result, I could not get into them. Called tech support, and they were never able to give me any useful suggestions. In the end, they turned into landfill because my time to return them expired.
Never buying refurbished gear from this company again.

Problem for me was the router was far away and signal quality was poor. I set this up per the instructions and once connected to my router it was moved to the garage. Got this refurbished and it took me three times to get it connected to the wireless router. Once it was set up it found the router again without an issue when I moved it to the rear of the house. Connected the security camera to it without issue and has not lost signal yet.

WPS setup worked like a charm, but when I went to configure it to extend my existing wireless SSID, I found it was already set up with a username and password. I factory-reset the device to get it to work, but this should have already been done before it was sent to me, if the product had been properly “Renewed” as listed.

I have a NETGEAR router in my basement. I bought this NETGEAR ‘open-box’ extender from Amazon to improve the range in my second story and on my back porch. I love it. It is WPS based, making it a simple plug and play. Comes with a simple set of directions. I have the unit plugged in my 1st floor kitchen. I have 5 devices working off it. The signal indicator is pegged all over my house now. Some people seem to be having trouble with it. I think they maybe did not simply follow the directions. If you have a WPS based router you should have no problems. The directions for non-WPS devices are a little more complicated. I can’t advise on that.
