Purchased this keyboard for my iPad Pro 11″. It connected to my iPad for the first time with no real issues. I was very hopeful. The case itself was made of pretty nice materials, and felt solid. I didn’t mind that the keyboard comes off too easily because I didn’t want my ipad to turn into a laptop. I wanted to be able to detach the ipad from the keyboard easily. However, I saw two major flaws that keeps this from staying in my house as it will be returned by the end of the month.
1. The magnets aren’t strong enough to keep the case closed tightly. It opened up too easily for my taste.
2. While it connected to my iPad easily the first time, the keyboard lagged tremendously after coming back to it a couple of hours later. After not needed to use it for a couple of days, I tried conecting to the keyboard again, but I couldn’t get it to reconnect. I even tried to forget the device on my iPad and tried pairing again – which took multiple tries. Once I got that to work, I was able to use the keyboard again. However, the same thing occurred a few days later, and I couldn’t reconnect even after forgetting the device.
Also, from a design perspective, the nice textured material that is on one side of the case is the bottom side of the keyboard – so you rarely even get to touch it. I would’ve liked to see this material on the back side of the iPad side of the case as well so that you can feel the nice material when holding the iPad w/o the keyboard. Right now, it’s just cold uncomfortable metal, which doesn’t feel quite as nice as the aluminum body on the iPad itself.

Like the lower price. From prior experience, I know the hinges will break, so know to be careful. Other than that, good product at a great price.

GOOD: the keyboard have chiclet-sized keys, which makes it better to type than Appleโs โclothedโ keyboard.
BAD:
1). When you close the keyboard, it will NOT turn off the iPad nor the keyboard. This will eventually cause a battery drain on BOTH the iPad and keyboard. The Apple keyboard have magnet and will turn off the iPad when closed.
2). Since there is no magnet on the keyboard, it will flap open unless you hold the keyboard and its cover at the same time. There are times when I tried to pickup the keyboard (itโs quite heavy) and the keyboard flapped open.
3). Since there is no magnet, the ONLY thing that hold your iPad and keyboard connected are two small connectors. Opening the iPad and the kick stand will require that you force the iPad backward by pushing the back case , just like opening a laptop. Given that there is only 2 small connectors, I am not sure these will withstand the repeated open and close of the back case.

I’ve had about 5 Zagg ipad keyboard cases over the years. I love the old school Rugged Book for the older Ipad Air 2. If they would just make that same style for the newer iPad Pros, that would be awesome. I’ve had 2 of the Rugged Book Go’s for my iPad Pro. The stand broke off of the back on both of them. So this time I tried the Slim Book Go. This one’s definitely different from the Rugged Book. The keyboard is lighter and thinner and not as rugged (to be understood). The case that holds the iPad Pro is fine, not as much silicone around it, more of a hard shell but definitely ample protection. The stand on the back feels like it’s just slightly larger overall than on the Rugged Book Go, but I can tell you still need to open it from the middle of the stand, or with hands on both sides to open it evenly so it doesn’t snap one of the hinges. I think if they added a third hinge in the middle, or even two in the middle that would help. The only other thing I don’t love is that the apple pencil 2 fits inside the case using a slot with a light magnet, but it doesn’t feel super secure. And you have to move it to the other side (the outside) to charge it. Not a big deal, but if it could stay on the charger, that would help. The keyboard itself is great. It’s comfortable to use and the keys have a good feel to them. Overall I’m happy with it for the price I paid and would recommend it if you’re looking for good protection with a keyboard at a good price.

Great keyboard.

I had another case with a more physical hinge but it broke twice (got 2 for some reason). I like that this has more magnets but itโs easier to hinge. Iโm hoping that means it wonโt break as easily. I like to use my iPad for working out and typing on, so I need it to hinge in different angles.

The keyboard is not too cramp, it is better than my expectation. However once in a while it is disconnected from ipad due to bluetooth connectivity, thus need to wait for a few seconds to wake up or press power button. A bit thick, but provides good protection from fall

I had bought my wife an iPad Pro, she is a quilter & the Pro would help with designs. I found this ZAGG Product, the price was good & reviews were good, so I purchased it. It has been a wonderful addition to the iPad. If I needed another, I would buy this product. The charge really does last as advertised & works well, holding the iPad in a great position for my wife’s work.

We have had several of these casesโฆwe keep buying them because we like them so much. However, the hinges are plastic and after a few months of usage, the hinges break. This is disheartening! We keep hoping Zagg will change the material on these hinges to make them last!! Weโll see how this one goes. Please advise Zagg of this issue! Thanks!

The keyboard was great albeit thin. The iPad part covers the iPad completely which is nice, I had a problem with how the Brydge Keyboards did not provide protection to the iPad itself. The keys clicked nice with good spacing and good backlight. I did not keep long enough to test the battery.
My primary problem with this case was the flap that folds out to support the iPad. This is the first of this style I have tried and I do not like it. It takes up a TON of desk/table space to make it work, and it has to be just right. It WAS strong enough to support for really wide viewing angles which is a plus, but it was hard to open when setting up. Also, it didn’t take much to detach the iPad portion from the keyboard portion, and the connector is pretty flaky on reattaching.
Overall it is close but missed the mark on a case that I will keep, keyboard & typing felt good, light looked good, adequate iPad protection, but just could not get over the function and setup issues.
Unfortunately there don’t seem to be many options for iPad Pro cases right now.

Needed to replace my worn iPad case and thought Iโd get a keyboard this time. I saw this discounted and thought, for about a hundred bucks off ($37) why not? This case is SOLID. Tight fitting, very robust with good cutouts. Keyboard attaches and detaches in 1 second. The pencil tray makes it easy to hold without touching the screen. The support stand is awesome, holds it any position(landscape) you put it in. Whatโs not to like.
