I got this to replace a Cat Fishin’ (brand) pole that I had for my cat.
That pole was definitely higher quality and a better fit overall, but I love this one too AND this one is a lot more affordable. The main differences are that this one can cast (which is excellent, the other one is fly fishing style), this one has more plastic/the pole itself feels less durable, and it’s hard to get that nice “woosh” sound cats love with this. Either way though, my cat is happy so I’m happy.
If it helps anyone trying to actually fish: my cat weighs 11 pounds and I cannot reel him in with this, I think 5-8 pounds would probably be the limit. But this casts well, it’s easy to use, and I think it would be great for a young kid on their first fishing trip.

 I love this for my children who are 1.5 and 3 yrs old! It’s light enough they can hold and learn to properly cast with it! Its ergonomic hand design is comfortable. You can attached a weighed fish for practice or hooks when it’s time to really fish. We love this pole!
