Nice, compact packaging. Espresso shot did not pull well at all, very watery. Easy to use, just not great quality. Also you have to add your own boiling water, so this isn’t self sufficient anyway.

Out of the box charged. Cleaned and flushed all parts several times.
Loaded with my Lavaza fresh grind from the Breville. Pulled a shot of espresso. Just as expected, I will have to pull a few shots to get it/me dialed in. But I think the price point and concept are achieved. Now it is up to the reliability and consistency curves to make it loose stars, that takes time and use. Note: This doesn’t heat water, it uses the early model nespresso pods. The water reservoir is just a tad smaller in capacity than the cup and not a 100% leak proof seal, nor is the cup insulated..so don’t think you can hike loaded with water. They both are silicone lip type lid seals. You will need to travel to a hot water source or with a source of hot water! Size is accurate. Weight is similiar to full water bottle of similar size. I don’t use pods so I didn’t test that option. I’ll have to buy some and try that out.

I’m absolutely loving my new coffee maker! The portability of this model is a fantastic feature—it’s so easy to take with you when you’re on the go and still make a great cup of coffee. When I first came across this coffee maker, I was on the hunt for a new one and became intrigued by the idea of portable models. I’m thrilled to say this one has far exceeded my expectations.
Not only does it brew an excellent cup of coffee, but it’s also remarkably easy to use. The design does require you to add your own hot water, which actually helps achieve a stronger extraction. Initially, I thought this might be a bit of a hassle, but it’s not too troublesome, especially since I recently bought an electric kettle that I really enjoy using.
However, if you’re out camping or in a situation where access to boiling water is limited, this might not be the best option. For home use, though, it’s a delightful gadget that makes a single serving of coffee with ease. I’m really impressed by its quality and build. It would be even better if they created a version that could warm the water itself before extraction, but that’s a minor detail.
I also think it’s clever that the bottom part of the coffee maker doubles as a small cup—especially handy if it’s the only option you have at the moment. Overall, this portable coffee maker is a fun and practical solution for coffee lovers who want a single serving on the go. This is a pretty slick machin!\ It would be very suitable for travel if you love your espresso that much. I am using at the office for my afternoon espresso break. The video shows the process of making a shot. The only thing I need to add to what you see there is my STRONG recommendation that you keep the whole upright (water chamber on top) after adding the hot water to the chamber. This is because if you tilt/slosh the unit with hot water in it, the pressure in the chamber will rise as the water releases heat and it will leak badly or even pop the top off. Just practice how to load the coffee into the lower half. It’s very easy…just add the pod or the fill-it-yourself basket, set it into the lower chamber cover and screw that part on. I heat the water just to boiling in a microwave. Add more or less water to your taste, then let it run until the water stops coming out. I am impressed with the flavor and the crema (foam top) that it creates. It actually makes a better crema than my full-sized home espresso machine! A pod will be most convenient, of course–though you’ll be adding to the world’s plastic waste problem. If using the refillable chamber, you’ll need to work out your system for cleaning out the spent grounds. A rinse works well. If you don’t have access to a sink, scraping most out and getting the rest with a paper towel would work. In the video I muse about what would happen if one used cold water to make a “cold brew”. I tried later and it was crap! (No slam on this device, as it’s not intended for use with cold water.)
