Bought this for an LED light for my new tank as I tend to fall asleep at night and leave my lights on into the wee hours of the night.
Initially, I followed all the instructions to setting up the timer, and it wouldn’t turn on at the time I set. I tried it several times and became very frustrated. The indicator light would be on, but the light still wouldn’t turn on. I watched videos on Youtube on instructions when I stumbled upon a how-to video made by ZooMed itself. Turns out I had forgotten a very tiny step– I didn’t turn on the light after I had plugged it into the timer! It works fine now and I am very happy that I figured it out. π

I was looking for a timer for my aquarium light because I was getting sick of manually adjusting it and trying to keep it consistent. This has been so great! It’s very easy to set up, a bit confusing at first, but a quick look over the instructions got me set up no problem. It also includes a switch to allow you use it in manual mode without having to unplug it and plug it in at another spot.
About 2 weeks after using the timer it started making a very loud ticking noise while lagging behind on the time. I e-mailed Zoo Med and they send me out a replacement. They were very prompt in their communications and shipping. I’ve now had the replacement for a few months with no issues.
I just want to point out that there are INSTRUCTIONS. I’ve noticed a lot of reviews and questions asking how to set it, etc. They are in place between the blue logo insert at the top of the product packaging.

I needed a timer for my succulents and orchids that would fit into a small space on my wall to plug in my grounded light box unit. This worked perfectly! It’s slim so I was able to plug it into a socket that runs flush with the wall. This timer is grounded so you’ll need 3 prong outlet to plug it in. It also accepts a grounded plug to be plugged in. Also the quality of this product is amazing and it has worked since I plugged it in! Easy set up. I can only assume this would be great for anything really…aquariums, christmas lights, timing lights when you’re not home etc. Don’t even hesitate…this product is awesome!
EDIT*****
This is now making a very loud ticking sound -which it was NOT doing for about a month or more – so I have had to unplug it because it’s ticking away and it’s TOO loud for my livingroom. Such a bummer because it’s really awesome little thing that fits the space I have it in so well. Anyone else have this happen? I wonder if ZooMed will send me a new one.
EDIT*****
ZOOMED sent me a replacement! Thanks ZooMed! Great company to buy from.

Great merchandise, easy to set up, been using this product for a while and it did not disappoint me.

Directions was a bit tricky at first.
Just plug in and pull up the black pieces that are wrapped around the timer for the time you want it to be on or off. I had to play with the timer a bit to get it just right but it is very nice and does work on aquariums. I read some peoples complaints that it wasnβt changing over to their black lights. These are for a one switch light. Not a multi switch colored light.

Don’t waste your money…The timer I received does not work. Very poor instructions, however a very simply timer. It just is cheap and not a quality timer. Due to the low cost,m it is not worth my time and effort to return or question the vendor. My advice, buy a better quality timer.

This is okay. If you look at the photo of this product, it is mostly white with a small black ring. That small black ring is composed of tiny levers (for lack of a better word) that you press down for “on” time. These levers are set at fifteen-minute intervals, which makes it convenient. However, the black ring had a small gap that didn’t allow for me to be able to set it properly. I have the a.m. side set as the p.m. side. If I left it set properly, there would be a fifteen minute time period around 6:00 p.m. without any light. Once I switched the time, this time period was around 6:00 a.m., thus not disturbing my frogs’ cycles. Overall, I really like this timer. It seems to work well so far. Just beware of how you set it.

I love this coloring book so much! The pictures are so nice. The only complaint would be that markers can go through to the next page so it’s best to put another piece of paper in between.

Fantastic! Reliable, easy to use, I love the switch on the side that lets me turn on the light while still on the timer, even when the timer is set for the light to be off at that time. I bought one of these to prep my planted tank for me leaving on vacation. It worked so well that I got three more for the rest of my planted tanks, and everything was perfect when I came back. I also got a digital timer for comparison and it definitely wasn’t as easy to use as the Zoo Med timer. The next planted aquariums I set up, I’m definitely geting this timer.

Easy to use and does its job. Instructions were included in a small insert. Just set the ticks to the hours that you want the lights on, set the dial to the current time, and plug it in. The time on the dial doesn’t always align with the exact time of day, but as long as my aquarium light is on for 10 hours a day, I don’t really mind being a few minutes off. There’s also an “on” switch on the side in case you want to turn the light on regardless of the timer.

Great piece of equipment, easy to set up, and its doing the job, looks and feels well built. How long it’ll last, time will tell us.
Highly Recommended.
