Took a few tries to get the time right and to get this to work but it has been reliable since. The written directions are confusing so we had to watch a video on how to set it up. I recommend doing that. But it’s a good little timer for your reptile friends

Tried for two nights before throwing in the trash. It kept sticking at different times and not progressing through to turn on in the morning. I would be getting ready for work and notice my heat emitter was still on and basking light off at 7:45. So I look at the timer and it says it’s 11:30 pm. I corrected it for two nights thinking maybe I did something wrong. I twisted to make sure it had no obstructions, then set it back to whatever the current time was. The day and night times were not the problem. It was simply not continuing to turn and keep proper time. It’s the price of a few energy drinks, so I didn’t waste my time trying to get a refund. Not saying they’re all crap. Plenty of people have no problem with theirs. But at this price you know they’re made cheaply. It’s just a chance you take. Went back on amazon and ordered a more expensive digital day/night timer. Lesson learned. 😉

These timer outlets are set up on each of my lizards enclosures! I have two leopard geckos and a bearded dragon, turning on/off their lights and heating pads used to be chaos! I would always forget, but not anymore these outlets are the best!

The instructions were not completely clear, but there were YouTube videos to help. It works perfectly and I have had no problems with it at all.

Working good for a few months now, use it to turn light on and off for our toad.
Only thing I don’t like is when you plug it in to an outlet on top it partially covers the outlet underneath it making that outlet not useful for other items. There are ways around it though.

The night side plugged in just fine, but the day side wouldn’t seat right in the plug and would shut off the second you let go to the plug. The prongs on the plug are straight and the light was working just fine before trying to plug into the device, the light worked just fine after plugging back into the wall again. Device doesn’t work, don’t recommend.

I recommend this wholeheartedly! Take your time setting it up because it is slightly confusing. That is my only critique. This is a life saver for your reptiles and amphibians because you don’t have to worry about turning their light and heat lamp off and on. Bottom line– get this!! It is definitely worth the price.

This time works great for my needs.
My wife and I set up a 10 gallon terrarium for three small hermit crabs. Our house gets pretty chilly, so we wanted to be able to keep heat lamps on for them all the time. We have a “day” bulb and a “night” bulb so that the light spectrum is covered.
We were manually switching the lights, but the problem with that was our work and sleep schedule isn’t very consistent…so some days it would be “daylight” until 8 PM, other days only until 6 PM…likewise with the night lamp, sometimes we’d switch to daylight at 6 AM, other times nearly 10 AM.
This timer allows us to have the lights automatically switch themselves at exactly the same time every day. We’ve got them set for 7 AM and 7 PM, and it’s been spot on to the minute ever since we got it.
It’s nice peace of mind knowing that if we are going to have to work late, our crabs won’t be stuck in the daylight until nearly midnight.
I believe that this product is well worth what it costs, and would recommend it to anyone looking to switch between two different lights.
