I ordered these for my 7 year old for Christmas since he has a recent fascination with maracas. These arrived a day late with the handles unattached, therefore all of the gravel (yes small dirty stone gravel) emptied out in the shipping package. Additionally one of them was cracked as you can see in the pictures. They also smelled funny. Even worse these happened to get shipped with a hard drive for my older son for his gaming PC and the dust and gravel got into the box packaging of the hard drive. The hard drive itself had a plastic bag over it, so I think it will be ok, but still unhappy with this purchase. I may try to refill and glue together so my son can still get them, but not sure if I want to even bother.

I bought these because they remind me of a pair I had as a kid. Like many other reviewers one of mine broke on first use.
I’m going to use craft glue to reattach the handle and keep them as a decoration. Good thing I bought another pair (boring print but high quality) for actual use.
I do not recommend for anything other than decorative purposes.

Got a set of two. This one the handle needed to be sanded down upon opening. That one Didn’t even last 24 hours before this happened. The sound is amazing, I love the painted design. I at least got one of the two. I’m sure they aren’t all like this. I would still recommend this product regardless of the 2nd one.

Bought this is a gift for my mom she absolutely loves them and I constantly hear her playing them only downside the handle popped off and the beans went everywhere and it had to be re-glued but other than that they’re very well-made
