Tristen Dalie –
The knives themselves seem of extreme build quality, knives are all razor sharp and making kitchen work a breeze. What I find strange is that the design of the blocks seems rushed or unprofessional, the knives fit loosely and the slot sizes don’t seem to match the knives in the set. Furthermore, this is an abundance of steak knives in the set, purchasing the “top of the line” set from a renowned company I would expect there to be a greater selection of specialty knives and less “filler”. I had to spend another $100 to purchase a cleaver to fill the slot in the block that is not included with this set. All in all the knives themselves are of superb quality, but the set lacks in ergonomics and design qualities. At least its not entirely built in China as well.

The pictures of the blades on the box show “FRIODUR Ice Hardened” printed on the blades, but none of my knives have that printed on them. It made me wonder if these are a knockoffs, so I went to Zwilling’s website and did find this exact knife set on their website. Some of them show it printed and some don’t. Everything other than that appears to be legit.
The blades are stamped, not forged. They are obviously not Zwilling’s higher end knives, but they are very nice looking and very sharp out of the box. The smaller blades have a thinner tang than the bigger ones and are more flexible. These knives almost appear to be kinda cheap, but I guess time will tell.
In the set they give you 8 steak knives and 1 vegetable utility knife, but the vegetable knife is just a steak knife. It has the exact same part number as the steak knives! Do they think we wouldn’t notice? This set does not come with a cleaver but the block has a slot for one.
The block is nicely finished. My only gripe with the block is that it is long and takes up extra space. On my old set, the angled part of the block was more upright and took up about 3 inches less counterspace. Not a huge deal.
Overall, This appears to be a decent set. I plan on doing an update after using them for a while.

Got these for Christmas. They are very sharp. They cut noticeably better than others knives we have had. One of the vegetable knives is actually a steak knife. It’s a bit weird to put all the steak knives in the bottom and them “1 extra one” in the top part of the block. You also get “one extra slot” for a cleaver. But they don’t tell you that. I think it’s also weird to spend this amount of money and not get enough knives to actually fill the block. So I bought the cleaver separately. We are washing them by band for now.

I bought this a a black Friday deal and wasn’t disappointed. These are quality knives and I have not had to sharpen them in the six months I’ve owned them. One thing that surprised me was the weight of these knives. I assumed that a higher quality knife would be thicker and heavier, but these are slender and light but razor sharp. My older set, which was an entry level Henkel lasted fifteen years, and I expect these to last much longer.

This is my second set. I bought the first one years ago and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, the set was in a box that was lost in a move 3 years ago. I mourned and immediately bought a cheap set of no name knives that I hated from Day 1.
So, here I am with my second set. It was $130 more than my first purchase, but well worth it.
When they say these knives are sharp, believe it. I learned from the first time when I handled them gingerly but still managed to almost cut a few fingers off. Yes, I’m exaggerating. Slightly.
Fantastic knives- if you want to accessorize your kitchen and don’t feel nauseated with the price, these are it!

I purchased the ZWilling Twin Signature 19 peice set, has the empty missing top slot in the wooden block, of course it’s extra. The Vegetable cleaver is the last peice that slips right in place to complete this wonderful set.
Quality is amazing. It’s extremely sharp to a point where it’s dangerous!
Mine all have the Made in Germany stamp.
This is the best kitchen knife set for the money. All are extremely seriously sharp, I can not stress that enough. I got my 19 peice on sale for about $344 and the Vegetable Cleaver as I call it hatchet was another $101. Have no doubt this can easily cut thru any meat and small boned meat.
The wife loves it.

This knife set is not disappointing. It is my first set that is in the $100+ range. And when they first got in I was concerned because they are so thin. But that was just me. They are fantastic. They are so sharp, and sturdy, and fit well in the hand. I only have 2 complaints.
1. The block is clearly a generic block. There are more slots than there are knives. And so it brings down the quality control/aesthetic a bit.
2. It comes with 8 steak knives. Which is good. But there is another knife in the set that has a different identification number. That is titled for a different use. But it is literally the same knife as the steak knives. There is no difference at all. So it seems pointless. But hey, a 9th steak knife I guess lol

While everything with the product turns out to be correct, and really great to work with – I had initial concerns due to: 1) poor internal packaging, and 2) “redundant” knifes.
Upon first opening the Zwilling box, things were not organized well inside the box and had obviously moved around – at first, suggesting it had been tampered with. In the end, it seems that it was just not packaged well, and during shipping, the internal boxes had “floated” around inside. Having a large wooden block does not help with this.
Then when laying out the knifes, it at first seemed that there had been some mixup with what was sent – as there were 9 of the steak knifes (which again, raised the possibility of tampering). However, after doing a spot check of knifes, it turns out that the same model knife presented as a steak knife, was also presented as a vegetable prep knife. So once again – all was well – just not straight forward.
Final comment – once I got passed the the perceived issues with the packaging, and the actual knifes sent, I love the final product.
