SUMMARY: Apple Airpods Max were not my first choice because of their relatively high price. I purchased from and returned to amazon a pair of new B*se QC headphones and replaced them with apple Airpods Max after three days. I have now travelled overseas with them and I am very impressed; in fact, I absolutely love them. They are the workhorse among fluffy, cheap plastic competing headphones. Solid performance during punishing overseas flights and ground travel.
PRO: ** Sound quality was superb and far superior to the competing product that I returned to amazon. ** I fully charged the Airpods Max to 100% and without recharging them, watched several full length movies and streamed live and saved music nonstop; they held their charge for well over 21 hours, when my flight reached its final destination, they were at 0%, but were still cancelling noise and performing almost 23 hours later. ** Quality Construction, look and feel, ** Analog Volume and sound mode controls are easier to find and use than the features on the pair I returned, ** Comfort & Fit on large heads – I have a large head and cannot feel the 13.6 ounces of weight, however, my petite wife found them to be too heavy for her pretty little head. ** At first, I hated, now I LOVE the protective “bra” case because easily went in and out of my carry-on laptop bag 100x without taking up coveted real estate inside… it now makes sense to me. ** Many very inexpensive after-market silicon covers are available to protect areas of the device that the “bra” does not cover, including the mesh headband. ** I tested the Noise Cancellation feature on two, 10 hour overseas flights and four, 3 hour domestic flights over a two week period. My previous headphones did a nice job of cancelling airplane noise, the Airpods Max were even better—much better because almost completely neutralized almost all ambient aircraft noise; I slept on the airplane feeling like I was not wedged in among 300+ other people. ** The 8 microphones comprising the sound “transparency” feature did a very nice job of allowing me to hear airport/airplane announcements, while still warding off, whie still giving unwanted chit-chatters a sense that I could not hear them.**
CON:
**As noted, the Price seems high at first, but my field test of Airpods Max during my recent marathon overseas trips proved to me that spending an extra $150-$200 (I found a better price on amazon than at apple store) was worth every penny. No buyer’s remorse here. **Charging to 100% is not quick; give yourself overnight. **If you have a small head or a weak neck, the weight of Airpods Max might bother you, but if you don’t and you’re looking for a sturdy, stainless steel framed, (aluminum earcups) work horse with amazing technology, buy these. **I purchased apple’s proprietary cord to connect with the airline’s onboard entertainment system…it worked fine, but shame on apple for charging so much for a cable, which should be about 10 to 12 inches longer.

Mi opinión sobre los Airpods Max teniendo experiencia con los XM4:
Definitivamente debes tener un dispositivo Apple para considerar la compra de los Airpods Max. Si no cuentas con un iPhone, iPad o Mac ve y busca otras opciones.
1. Presentación:
– No hay mucho que decir, los mejores de la gama. Calidad de los materiales bastante premium.
– En cuanto el estuche, una desgracia.
2. Comodidad:
– Son pesados, pero al utilizarlos se distribuye muy bien el peso siempre y cuando no se haga mucho movimiento en la cabeza.
– Las almohadillas son reemplazables lo cual es muy bueno que hasta se puede personalizar los colores, son cómodas pero prefiero el material suave de los XM4. Eso sí, creo que cubre mas mi oído los Airpods Max.
– 2 botones efectivos, uno de ellos es una coronilla para subir y bajar el volumen. Nada mejor que estos botones físicos los cuales aseguran una buena funcionalidad aparte en una ubicación bastante apropiada.
3. Tecnología
Desde aquí adelanto que es el mejor apartado de los Airpods Max.
– Ecualizador adaptativo, esto permite tener una fidelidad a como las canciones deben ser escuchadas.
– Noise Cancelling/Transparencia: Peleados por el reinato contra los XM4 de Sony. Puedo decir que los Airpods se llevan la victoria, para el noise cancelling no es una gran diferencia pero para el modo transparencia simplemente nadie supera a Apple, una cosa espectacular.
– Spatial Audio: Una maravilla al momento de ver series y películas compatibles, ésta tecnología integrada por Apple es única y ahora con la llegada de la compatibilidad con Apple Music y Dolby Atmos no tiene rival. El sonido 360° de Sony queda en ridículo.
– Ecosistema de Apple: la fluidez de sincronizarlos y utilizarlos de inmediato con tus demás dispositivos Apple es el paraíso del mundo del Bluetooth. No existe ninguna otra compañía que te ofrezca la calidad conectividad como lo hace Apple.
Calidad de audio:

El punto más importante pero puedo resumirlo fácilmente.
En efecto, los AirPods Max tienen una calidad bastante buena y sí, superior ante los XM4. Que tanto? Diría que un 10-15% más, a que se debe este %?
– Claridad y nitidez del sonido, un audio más limpio y sin distorsiones.
– Los Airpods Max estan hechos para adaptarse a la música que se reproduce y por ende permite tener un sonido personalizado para cada canción. Otros audifonos se ajustan a la configuración predeterminada y quizás esos ajustes no sean lo mejor al escuchar otros géneros.
– Al tener un balance los sonidos más beneficiados son los medios, así que si esperas unos graves robustos como ofrecen los Sony lamento decir que no serán así. Sí, tienen buenos graves pero no tan predominantes como muchas personas quisieran. Se podrán hacer ajustes dentro de la aplicación del servicio de música pero no directamente a los audífonos como lo es con los XM4 o los Bose 700. En mi opinión, prefiero más los sonidos como los artistas quieren que ma gente los escuche, así que prefiero la forma en que Apple lo hace.
En lo personal creo que los Airpods son una excelente opción para aquellos que tienen la oportunidad de pagarlos, que pueda sacarle provecho al ecosistema y que igualmente estén suscritos al servicio de Apple Music por las grandes novedades que tendrá y las ventajas que tendrán los Airpods Max, dándole más justificación a la compra.
Si no te interesa tanto el ecosistema y las funcionalidades que ofrecen los Max, no vale el precio extra al menos no por ese 10-15% de mejor calidad ante su mayor rival, los Sony XM4 que por cierto estan a la mitad del precio…

These headphones connect seamlessly between Apple devices uncle my Apple pros. The sound quality is amazing. Love these head phones and when talking on the phone you sound more clear. The noise cancellation works very good and they’re not to heavy at all surprisingly they are very light weight. I hear a lot of people saying they are too tight but they are a comfortable fit and I have a lot of hair and wear a head covering and they feel very nice over the ears. This came with charging cord and the case. Highly recommend these headphones
UPDATE-
I have now had these head phones for a couple weeks and they have now the sound has started to go out randomly throughout watching a 10 minute video/or phone call. They sometimes the sound breakups up and lags for a few seconds then goes back to normal. So it’s now not worth the money at all! You can’t listen to anything for 5+ minutes without the sound going in and out or it breaking up and glitching. I have tried to reset them and that hasn’t worked. To be this expensive they should’ve worked for a very long time with no issues and it’s only been 16 days. Waste of money and I can’t return because the window closed on 2/26 I ordered these on 2/7 and received them 2/11. I would NOT recommend these!
Update!! Apple has showed me how to reset the headphones! Yay! They work perfectly now and I have had no issues since.

As expected with all apple products build quality is top notch and aesthetic is excellent. The only negative in my opinion is the ” apple tax “. While these sound good, for the price obviously better sound quality can be had elsewhere. But if you’re already invested in the apple ecosystem and like the aesthetic, than these are solid.

I was debating between the Bose 700 and the Beats Studio pro but I’m glad I paid a bit more and got these on a surprising Amazon sale. They are definitely authentic from Amazon.ca. The noise cancellation is much stronger than expected. The setup was essentially seconds. The tactile volume wheel is really helpful. The headphones pause when I remove them from my head. The build quality is substantially better than the others I mentioned.

Muy buena calidad de construcción, impecable en ese sentido y una muy alta calidad de audio. El único pero que le pondría es que pare ese nivel de precio, la funda ofrecida no es suficiente para asegurar el mantener los audífonos en buenas condiciones. Debería traer en todo caso una adicional para transporte.
