I tested 5 different projectors with a max budget of $1200 , for my needs I decided to go with this one because itโ€™s packed with features and is very bright.
If youโ€™re needing a dedicated home theater projector this is not it. But for a all around projector in itโ€™s price range this is the best youโ€™re going to get. The color as vivid the whites are really bright.
Iโ€™ll be using this in the backyard and inside with lights on and itโ€™s perfect for that.
Iโ€™ve tried other brands that claimed higher Lumens but seemed to be only be half as bright. (Optoma / viewsonic )
    This is it

I am a home theatre guy for 20 years. I have gone through a few projectors maybe 10.
This one is a keeper and the price is definatley right! Epson has always been the leader in LCD quality.
I have been waitting for an Epson affordable Laser for a long time.

Set up in nothing flat and, a really good picture. Great Purchase.

I am so happy. Upgraded an older lamp projector for our home theatre and its a major upgrade. My screen is 120″ diagonal and its mounted upside down from the ceiling 16′ away. Plugged in the hdmi and power, a couple simple on screen steps, then it was working perfectly. It has manual adjustments for zoom and focus, very easy to use. The menu is very easy to navigate, they even have notes next to each item explaining what it does. I also love that it automatically turns on and off when it detects signal from the receiver. No more reaching up to power on and off for the kids. It is very bright. It looks nearly identical with all the lights on and the lights off. You could barely see my old one with the lights on and this thing truly looks like a modern HD flat screen in terms of brightness and clarity. If I had to knock one little thing, the cooling fan is a little loud but you only hear it when the audio is quiet or silent. Normal sports or movie sounds and you do not hear it. Very happy.

Iโ€™m going to address this projector from a โ€œHome Useโ€ perspective. I think many of us are curious about that but very few speak on it.

First. I love videos/movies. Have a very high end Sony 65โ€ and it is where the bulk of family viewing is done. It is high end and that is noticeable. Even though I can see the diff, Iโ€™m not a videophile or video snob who discerns every blurry pixel or jittery movement. These things are important to many and i hold no judgement or opinion on their reviews.

I have an Optoma proj that is 10 years old. Have replaced the lamp a few times. It did/does well. I was in a local sports bar and noticed a big screen across the sun lit restaurant and how amazingly bright it was. I snapped a photo of the model and that brings me to this review today. I labored over 10 months on if this was right. Calling it a โ€œwork projectorโ€ really threw me. The proj I had was pretty goodโ€ฆin the dark. Proj are projโ€™s so they will never be as bright as a TV in the sun but I need to at least be able to have lights on if not the blinds being open. Nothing like camping out in a cave all Saturday watching college football! ๐Ÿ™‚

What made me decide to pull the trigger on this is that the specs were a fair bit better than my existing proj. I was hung for a while on 60hz refresh until I discovered that all of Epsonโ€™s home projโ€™s are 60hz except one which is $3500. Contrast is much better than my old proj but not as high as the better projโ€™s out there. I buy those are better quality but what good is 2million:1 if the lamp is only 2000 lumens? I have a Sony for that.

So I pulled the trigger. Easy install. Fairly easy setup. These are always a bit of back and forth to get squared on your screen.

Football looks amazing! Movies look amazing. Colors are bright and vivid. Iโ€™d have loved 4k but not for the price those bring these days – next time! The blacks on the ref pants look flat. This is the contrast I believe. During a break when the sports casters are talking, the black jacket had fine definition and I could see wrinkles and cuffs. It was good. I guess I got used to this on my old projector so it doesnโ€™t bother me.

Once again, I like the size and brightness and donโ€™t sweat the detail on a big proj screen because it will wash out with ambient light anyway – unless you want to be in a complete black room.

I donโ€™t notice any ghosting in fast movement and movement is as smooth as I need to watch sports, or action flicks. Is there better? Yes of course but for those of us who want very good and waaaaaay brighterโ€ฆthis is the projector! You know if youโ€™re a video snob. You know if you sit there and nitpick each light transition. I love you guysโ€ฆyouโ€™re always right! Nothing wrong with that but if thatโ€™s you, this isnโ€™t your proj. For everyone else, this is a very good proj to light up your home. 4600 lumens! Amazing!

I kept reading posts that said โ€œmeh spend the extra $200 and get a C1 or whatever. The pic is betterโ€. This is true. The ratings on that one, and others, rock. I, however, want BRIGHT. I nailed it based on what I was looking for. If youโ€™re in the market, consider all aspects of how youโ€™ll use. Gamer? This may not be it due to 60hz refresh. Want to see 1000 shades of black in the ref pants as he walks byโ€ฆthis is probably not your proj.

Price and quality make it a great option for home! Iโ€™d imagine this is a perfect proj for commercial or industrial applications.

If youโ€™re not too high on the videophile scale, get โ€˜em while you can!

Only had it for a week and a half so cannot speak to longevity. However, it has a great picture, was easy to set up. Had one thing to figure out, how to flip the image, I just googled it instead of reading the instructions. I know itโ€™s lazy but itโ€™s easier. Over all it is exactly what we need.

Excellent image and brightness with the laser projector that will never dim or change color throughout the life of the projector, estimated at 20,000 hours. Installed several of these in venues with fixed and motorized screens as well as setup on carts for conference room settings.
