Sony HT-AX7 Portable Theater System

While this is expensive, it’s the best Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever used. I love it for entertaining because it’s so portable, and it really surprised me that just how well the surround works. It really does feel and sound amazing when you set the satellite speakers behind you. The battery life is good, and the app is surprisingly easy to use. It connects easily to my phone (I generally use it with my phone as I have a real sound system for my tv) and controlling from the app is nice.

I still give it 5 stars even though it’s pricy just because it is so amazing. If you entertain a lot outdoors or in other parts of your house away from your main surround system, and you care about sound quality and immersion, I don’t think there is anything better. It also helps that it’s gorgeous and feels so premium and high quality.

I really like the simple design of this speaker set, it looks nice on my TV stand with its plain mesh grey color. The removable side speakers are something else entirely, simple attachment to charge them, fairly fast charging, and super easy to move around your desired sound setting. It really gives the surround sound you expect from a theater making it a great choice in my opinion for movie nights. The Bluetooth connection of the system works super fast and simple, I just turn on my TV and it automatically connects to the speaker set and turns it on even after leaving it off or idle for a long time. To be fair I was pairing this Sony speaker set with a Sony TV, but in my opinion I can’t tell if they just work great together but the change in sound quality from the TV speakers to this system is astounding. In terms of battery charge life because it is a wireless sound system, I used it with the side speakers also and it didn’t need another recharge for about a week. I don’t know if I used the speaker a great deal compared to the average person but I would say for the quality of sound the battery life is excellent. I wish the app that came with the setup of the speaker had a readjustment button or something for when you move the speakers around to get the ideal surround sound, because it does it once and I moved the speaker set around so I have no idea if its just constantly adjusting or only does it once. Another thing I will say is that I wouldn’t state that its as portable as their trying to claim it is, its fairly beefy if you have the idea you can just put it in a bag to carry it around. Other than those two annoyances I have with this speaker set I would say that quality of this is amazing, making a home theater become more like a real theater as you can hear all the action or musical ambiance of any movie or playlist you’re listening to.

These work amazing and actually we brought it camping this last weekend and worked amazing while streaming from our phone. It was like we had surround sound in the tent. I’ve already used this as surround sound camping, in our living room and outside working. The sound is clear and the quality is great. I live how the rear speakers detach easily but store right onto the main speaker and look built in. Very sleek and clean looking speaker and am highly impressed so far.

Absolutely love the speakers. High quality and good sound. App works and you can turn it on from your phone which is cool.
The little speakers hold a really long charge and charge quickly. (After a movie and some music, I put them back on the speaker to move the upstairs, a few minutes later I checked the battery percentages and they were at 100% again) I tried to drain the battery somewhat and it lasts a while.

Spatial audio is awesome. Surround sound is amazing when watching things on a laptop or iPad or phone.

The only thing is that it has no other options to connect other than Bluetooth. So this isn’t for a tv sadly, or projector like they advertise. You can buy an HDMI arc to Bluetooth transmitter though theoretically. I am going to try that next because I’d love to use it with my projector.

These are expensive so they aren’t the best bang for your buck but they are very high quality. If you’re even considering them at this price point then I think you’d be happy with them.
