This is a perfect solution to having many big power adapters to plug into your surge protector. I just built a new computer, and bought a new monitor. My old monitor had a remote adapter box attached to a regular grounded plug, but my new one had the adapter box right at the end attached to the plug, and along with my other stuff, it wouldn’t fit on my regular power bar/surge protector. I had a look through the available offerings here on Amazon, and this pivot surge protector from Belkin seemed to fit all of my needs, so I ordered it. Once it got here, I found that it met all my needs and more. All eight of the outlets are grounded, and six of them pivot in both directions, so you can plug in as much big stuff as you need with no trouble. The final two outlets are fixed, and placed on the sides between the pivot plugs and the cable. The folding cable slots on the end are a really cool idea too, it makes cleaning up cable clutter very simple. Belkin also provides a $150,000 connected equipment warranty, showing that they believe their product will prevent surges from wrecking your gear. I haven’t has a chance to use the Ethernet connectors on this surge protector, but I may give it a shot when I try out my new powerline adapters, and if so, I’ll update. For now, for the price and flexibility of this item, I think it’s worth the full five stars!

    Not cheap but solid.
The rotating outlets were the principle reason for the purchase – that and the fact that Belkin has never let me down before with power strips. I am using this in the TV/Media center – so I have a lot of stuff that has big plugs. The ability to rotate the plugs out of the way of other plugs means that I don’t have two or three plugs that aren’t usable because they are blocked by others.

The cord management system isn’t bad but if you have more than a few cords to keep, you need to McGyver the clips a bit to keep things laying straight. It presents a slim profile so it was easy to stow. The outlet is next to the TV cabinet so the length of the cord wasn’t much of an issue, but it is a heavy, solid cord.

When checking the product out, there seems to be a lot of talk about their warranty. The ‘fine print’ isn’t that fine – it took me about 5 seconds to find the page and the language is pretty clear. Could they be nicer about this? Sure….but seeing how I read several reviews that talk about daisy-chaining their strips or using extension cords and three-to-two prong adapters, I can see why a company might be particular in their warranty deals.

Frankly, this wasn’t a concern for me. I live in a century and change old home but the wiring and panels are modern. I have whole-house surge protection and a solid home owner’s insurance. Their tech specs tend to suggest that if you are not using the product unsafely or inappropriately, it should be able to take the hit for your expensive electronics – and that’s why you bought it, right?

This versatile power strip had been my go to one to power and recharge cell phones, and all kinda of gadgets with bulky and odd-shared power bricks. The pivoting outlets make it easy to accomodate all kinda of bulky power adapters. I suppose all great things come to an end. I was moving so I packed it up, and when I went to put it back to work it no longer turns on. The power button clicks and lights up, but immediately goes dark, and there’s no power.

Built my son an entertainment unit for his room. Hiding power behind the TV was going to be a problem with traditional power bars. Being able to move the outlets made it easy.

This is a great design that solves a very common problem with trying to fit those large power plugs onto a singe surge protector. In the past with older protectors I had a few open outlet slots because those giant plugs took up so much space. The pivot design of this Belkin solves that problem perfectly. It has a full 180 degree rotate so you can go all the way to the left and then rotate it all the way to the right and stop anywhere in between. That’s a great design!

Also it’s narrow tube like design takes up very little space which is a huge benefit to me because I don’t have much space underneath my desk. Some of the other designs from other manufacturers were too large for my needs. Apparently they were trying to solve the issue with large power plugs by spacing the outlets farther apart which made the surge strips huge or they had other designs that still took up too much space.

Lastly this surge strip has great protection unlike some of the other surge strips out there. It has 2320 Joules protection, response time less than 1 nanosecond, EMI/RFI noise filtration 150kHz~100MHz up to 40 dB reduction, etc. Amazon doesn’t list these specifications so I’m listing them for you but if you compare them to some of the other surge strips you we see that it offers better protection. If you are serious about protecting your electronics then don’t get the ones that just barely protect you. You need to get the ones that can handle a good electric shock.

I normally buy cheap surge protectors for the house, mostly because I’m more interested in plugging more electronics into the outlet than I am actually protecting equipment from power surges. We have a bit of a cramped space behind our entertainment center though, and I was sick and tired of having to pull everything out and rearrange all of the cords in order to plug stuff in. I wasn’t sure what to expect when buying this because, again, I’ve only ever owned the super cheap stuff, but I was very impressed with the quality of this.

The 6ft cord is really nice. The longest I’ve ever had is maybe half of that. There’s a neat little indicator light that tells you whether the stuff plugged in is both protected and/or grounded. I guess that’s good for peace of mind. The pivoting plugs is what I bought this for and they work just as I expected them too. Some cords have bulky adapters on them and this lets you plug most stuff in without any hassle. No more blocking plug-ins with phone chargers and what not! There’s also a nifty little cord clip to help manage the stuff that is plugged in. I’m fairly lazy about this so I don’t care about it too much but it’s a nice little bonus.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this is a lifetime warranty on the surge protector itself and then an additional $150,000 warranty on anything that’s “properly plugged in.” I haven’t had to cash in on any of these yet, so I can’t actually speak to how easy any of it is to claim or what kind of hoops you have to jump through for replacements and repairs. Still, it’s kind of cool to know that your thousand dollar TV could be replaced just because of the type of surge protector you bought.

All in all, I’m very happy with this purchase. Not only does it do what I needed it to, but it comes with a couple extra bells and whistles like cord management and product warranties that makes it almost impossible to not recommend getting one. Suffice it to say, I think I’m done with cheap power strips and will probably eyeball Belkin’s products when on the prowl for a new one. The thing looks and feels sturdy as heck too.

Mucho mรกs prรกctico que los multicontactos tradicionales, gracias a la posibilidad que ofrece de inclinar los contactos (para ambos lados) de manera individual, por lo que se evita el problema de que un cargador voluminoso ocupe mรกs de un contacto.
