The board has a great design and good build quality. Most things worked well after I replaced my old mobo (another MSI from three years ago) and my old i9-1200K. The only thing I had trouble with was the WiFi 7 built in to the mobo.

First, Windows would not recognize the wifi hardware. Running the driver software from the MSI website didn’t help. I found dozens of posts all over the internet from others having the same (or other) issues with this board and WiFi. I updated BIOS and everything and nothing.

I finally decided to fully reset the CMOS by pressing the reset button on the board and suddenly Windows could see it. I finished setting up Windows 11 Pro and Ent (each on their own M2 drive and dual boot). Neither could fully utilize the Wi-Fi. It was choppy at best. I’d be on calls and the Wi-Fi would just drop. Wi-Fi performance was horrid. And the drops while on conference calls just couldn’t be an option for me. My old board (Wi-Fi 6) worked great. I had to replace it because ports kept dying on it.

I bought a cheap little AC1300 Wi-Fi dongle (slow) but it was super stable. And even though it had no external antenna (and the mobo one did) it was just rock solid for a week. Switching back to the mobo Wi-Fi and it was 70% less stable over a week. Just unacceptable for this price point.

I’ve been a fan of MSI for more than a decade. Never have had any problems with their products. They do what they are designed to do. No difference in this MoBo. It is very good. It handles gen 14 Intel CPUs right out of the box. It has a good number of rear USB ports. Good ethernet at 2.5G. I won’t be using the optional wireless.

Layout is good. Connector locations are all good. Heat sinks are plentiful. Rear ports are good. RAM limits are good. I am overall quite happy with this board. My wishlist below is fairly trivial. I understand the trade-offs in engineering anything for a particular price point.

The BIOS is very slick. I have DDR5 7200 RAM but it initially seems like 4800. The BIOS automatically recognizes that it could run at 7200 and with one click and a save, it is. I haven’t played with voltages or clock speeds yet, but between the BIOS and other MSI tools available, it should be very easy.

What I wished it had is:
    1) a second front USB 3 header. My case has 2 of the blue 19pin connectors, for 2 type A ports each, but the MoBo only has one. I believe MSI only makes one board with 2 such connectors but it costs 3 times as much as this board. Not worth it just for that.

    2) I also wish I could fill the M.2 slots without penalties. Only slots 2 and 4 don’t have detrimental effects. Using slot 1 drops the main PCI-E slot from 16x down to 8x. And using slot 3 makes something else inoperable. I don’t recall if it was a couple of SATA ports, or a USB2 connector. Something like that. It would be more desirable if everything could work all the time and you didn’t have to read the manual to work around limitations. I think that one board I mentioned, that costs over $1100, is like that, but all the rest have trade-offs.

That said, their competitors do the same things. So this is industry normal. And if I really want that additional pair of USB ports up front, I can add a PCI-E card for less than $30.

Overall, this board is great and has competitive features.

Board is very good when it comes to gaming and performance, The only problem I have had with the board itself is the Wi-Fi hardware and drivers, No matter what I have done, the wifi will go in and out even with the latest 2024 update. For a board to be claimed as “Max Wifi” and it goes in and out next to the router is kind of a negative for me. But apart from that the board works great and as intended but I ended up just using an ethernet cord which works completely fine. Very solid motherboard had no issues installing a i9 14900k in it. I have had this 3 months now apart from wifi no issues whatsoever.

Very easy setup; clear instructions make it simple. Board has 8 SATA ports! Plenty to expansion ports to connect anything you can imagine. Great for gaming setups. Price is awesome for what all you get.

A high-level motherboard, it supports a large number of configurations and is perfect if you want to overclock the Intel series.

I recently built a gaming rig, and decided to use this motherboard. Currently runs with an i9-14900k and so far never had any issues. One thing I like so much about this motherboard is that it isn’t tacky looking and non-gimicky branding stamps on it like other brands. I like a simple looking motherboard with no nonsense LED’s on it. Also the MSI BIOS is such an easy BIOS to work on. They made it so easy to configure your settings compared to other brands like Gigabyte or ASUS. If you’re looking for a mid to high end Motherboard for gaming or daily usage, then I recommend purchasing this. It’s all worth it.

Es una de las placas mas balanceadas, En mi caso la compre para una estación de trabajo acompañada con un I9 14900K y funciona perfectamente bien, aun con overclock a 5.2 GHz

I’ve purchased renewed, (as new condition) and it came in excellent condition. I had issues getting the internet to work but after a few driver’s installation, it started working. Also had to update the bios.
I had to upgrade to Windows 11 from 10 Pro since I could not get the WIFI to activate regardless of how many drivers I’ve installed. MSI tech support was very helpful. Pretty good motherboard.

Likes: Super heavy duty (must be twice the weight of my last MOBO, excellent IO and speed, future proof, design, lost of support

Dislikes: Need Windows 11 to use the Wifi onboard. Heat sink slightly large and ended up having to rig my CPU AIO in a sketchy way (check your case height, MOBO standoffs, and radiator sizes)

This is my first major upgrade in over a decade, so things have come a long way. MSI is up there in reputation and their website has alot of support and drivers for everything. BIOS is easy to use and has some simple good features to push your memory speed. Easy to diagnose issues and took a fraction of a time to get working as my first build. This is a fantastic bargain for what you get and I highly recommend this board. Looks awesome and a great performer!

Couldn’t make the WIFI work on both Windows and Linux. In Windows, it at least worked for a day but WIFI stopped working after 1st day. Tried to re install the drivers and windows didn’t recognized the driver downloaded from MSI website.

Not sure how to write this review… The product itself is great hence the 5 stars. My issue (even though) amazon sorted it out is that this is the second motherboard I’ve ordered that showed up used/opened/someone ordered and returned/etc. Obvious because one had missing parts and the box was previously opened. The other had loose hardware on it. Now as stated above… Amazon Fixed the issues immediately and sent replacements. But it should not have happened in the first place. When someone buys something new (especially something expensive or an item that is susceptible to possible damage if not handled correctly), that item should be SEALED and not previously opened. Ok I’ll stop my ranting… Bottom line the product works and the price was reasonable.
