I have the previous generation SATA2 V100 in my old computer and have loved it so this was a very easy choice to make. This drive is super fast. With 64bit Windows 7 Professional installed from pressing the power button to fully booted and online is only 6-7 seconds. I have this paired with an Intel DZ87klt-75K board with an i7 4770K processor and Kingston HyperX Beast 2400Mhz memory and nothing slows it down.
My old SSD drive still works flawlessly after 4 years of hard use so I am expecting the same from this one.
Even if you don’t have top of the line components an SSD for your OS drive will significantly reduce your boot times as well as improve program performance.

I’m using this in a new build as my boot drive for Win 7. It’s my first SSD, so of course I’m impressed by what the speed of it does for app load times. I’ve only been using it for a couple weeks, and have experienced no anomalies. The 60GB size is just right for the OS plus installed apps.

The way the SSD bays are in my case, it is impossible to connect 90-deg power connectors, which is all that came with my PSU. That was easily solved with a Y-adaptor.

The 480G Kingston solid state drive is being using in a new computer as the main C: drive. There were no problems during installation of the OS, and functioned exactly as expected from a hard drive. The computer is exceptionally fast, and Windows 7 Pro completes the boot up procedure and starts a web browser within 30 seconds, included login.

Because this is being used in a desktop computer, it was necessary to purchase an adapter kit for the notebook-size drive to mount in the hard drive rack. I use a standard SATA hard drive for file and data storage. I have only been using the SSD for a few weeks so can’t comment on reliability. I would highly recommend an SSD as the primary drive, and the Kingston memory has proven to be reliable as the main system DRAM.

I use this SSD card in my Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck shuttle to capture 1080p video when we are live web streaming and I need a archive of the event. It works like a charm with no issues. Get one of those SSD blue cases to protect it when you are traveling if you take this with you on a regular basis. Other than, it performs flawlessly.

I had outgrown my smaller SSD. I do not know if this is faster or slower than my old one, but it’s bigger.

Very fast with the Mac Book Pro Retina using the Seagate Thunderbolt adapter. Wanted to use it as a boot drive for windows 8.1, however 8.1 doesn’t allow you to install it on an external drive via USB 3.0 adapter. I have the Esata to Sata with power adapter coming in today should be able to install windows 8.1 on it that way. I plan on using it to edit 4K video (UHD) with Sony Vegas.

I replaced the Hard Disk in my HP Pavilion 15e041ca notebook with this SSD and it works perfectly. I transferred all of my data from the old HDD to this SSD using the ORICO 2588US3 case, which houses an HDD or a SSD without any mounting hardware required. I put the HDD in the ORICO case, plugged it into a USB 3.0 port (USB 2 can be used, but it will be slower), and then I copied the desired directories and files to the newly installed Kingston 240 GB SSD.

Outstanding performance, highly recommended – used currently in a RAID0 with another SSD, very pleased with performance.
Although many will see bigger differences than others, this is definitely a fast SSD and well worth the extra few quid when compared to the cheaper ones.
When I switched to SSDs two years ago I was amazed by their performance when compared to normal hard drives, but after buying this one I was amazed once again – everything is almost instant, very fluid motion in Windows 8.1.

Im using these with a controller that only supports sata II, but i expected to see at least 300mb/s (theoretical limit is 375).
In tests i was getting reads at 240mb/s and writes at 120mb/s. That’s pretty miserable Kingston. I had the same issue with kingstons value series drives (they were even slower). Kingston is really dropping the ball. Reads are MAYBE close to the real world limit of SATA II, but writes are not even close.

Someone i trust very much said they used 1000+ of these drives in their data center and didn’t have a single drive fail, so im sure these are pretty reliable drives. I probably could have seen similar reliability out of another brands drives though.. and i would have seen more speed and less cost.

I suggest you go with crutial/corsair. I have SSDs from each and both perform to spec. Im half tempted to return these and reimage my server because of this disappointment.

    Perfetto! .

I used this to replace my C:\ drive on the computer. My computer now zips along at top speeds. Web pages load faster and booting up the computer is blazing. I bought the 480GB because of this and used that to replace my drive with data on it. Should have converted to an SSD drive long ago.
