I am a Satechi fan and was opting to get the Satechi one but gravitated towards this one instead and was not disappointed at all. For the price point it is a great option. Proves brands are not all that. Its the build quality that matters and this does not disappoint. Very easy to install at rear of my iMac thought not flushed in but does the work. Once secured on the underside of the iMac it holds it very securely in place and all ports are USB 3.0 which is nice. Great product overall and very happy with my purchase.

This hub fit my iMac perfectly & works well. It blends in like it is part of the screen.

I am revising my review from earlier this year. I now give this product five stars and I am fully satisfied.
Someone from Sabrent saw my previous review and determined that I received a defective unit. They sent a new one to me free of charge. I plugged it in, and guess what — it works! Perfectly. My previous complaints about it not being able to handle USB3 devices and not having enough power even with the extra power plus, are void.
I have uploaded a photograph (the second one) showing the USB hub fully in action with two USB2 devices on the left, and two USB3 devices mounted on the right. Neither of those USB3 devices would work with the previous defective unit. But they work fine with the replacement.
The replacement unit even fits more flushly than the original hub I was shipped. Perhaps there was a slight tweak in design over the last few months.
So now Sabrent gets five starts not only for its product, but for pro-active customer service.

Good, but not great. As a Mac user, you get used to being able to plug stuff in and it “just works.” This one… isn’t quite there.
The look is pretty good, but doesn’t quite fit perfectly. I don’t necessarily blame Sabrent for that. It’s because they’re trying to have one device fit both the 21″ and 27″ iMacs. If they’d made slightly different devices, they could have been made to fit better.
But the real problem is the USB power. Even with the external power supply, it doesn’t supply enough power to run all of the modern devices you might find on an average desk. For example, it can’t handle the USB3 128GB Sandisk Ultra Fit flash drive. Plug it in and the light goes on, then the light goes off. That’s it. Not enough power for it to mount, so I have to plug it into a “real” USB3 port on the back of the machine.
If you want to attach a bunch of USB2 devices, it seems to handle most of those better. In the photo you can see two USB2 Sandisk Cruzer Fit flash drives working fine, along with a plug for an iPhone 5S. No problems. The iPhone even charges. But it can’t handle an iPad. Even the first generation iPad. If you plug that in, the iPad’s batter icon shows it plugged in, followed by the text “Not Charging.”
The Sabrent hub seems to be able to provide enough power for some of my 1TB and 2TB portable hard drives, but not always. I think they’re operating in low-power (slow) mode when connected, as if they’re connected to a USB2 port. Which would make sense, since USB2 ports provide less power.
Bottom line: If aesthetics are your primary concern (very important in my case), then this is a good hub. If you’re a power user with lots of new power-hungry USB3 devices, then look for something with more robust power capabilities.

Ok, I have to be honest I just stumbled upon this product the other day. I have been looking for a great 4 or 8 prot usb 3.o hub for the longest time. I know there are a million and one out there, but all of them don’t go with macs and some are with extra power adaptoers and some are without Which confuses me in itself, i mean How do some manufacture get away without putting extra power adapters on thier usb hubs and others dont. Speaking totally out of guess work, I can only assume the parts are made a little cheaper or have less quality, than the ones without. Like i said I have no proof. Anyway, I stumbled upon this Sabrent 4-port usb 3.0 hub for I mac. let me tell you I thought at first it was going to be flimsy or just dangle there underneath the mac and to be completely honest it kind of looks like its cheap, so I wasn’t going to get one. then I thought, “it is made to work with the imac exclusively so well give it a try the least that could happen is I return it unhappy”. Let me tell you I think this little device is nothing short of astonishing. first off It fits right on the back of the Imac and SNAPS into place. The little 4 prongs at the top go into the grove at the bottom of the Imac,(which I did not know existed until now) Long story short it makes for an extremely solid fit with the i mac!! I’m serious when i say its solid, I can plug and unplug usb cords to the front of my IMAC now one handed. I don’t need to steady the screen with my other hand. its that sturdy of a connection..Also it is flush with the front of the Imac and looks unbelievable great. Top be honest it looks like the mac was made with it. Overall, I think it is an amazing product most likely designed from an quick thinking mac user. I totally lucked out and had a spontaneous thought of trying this out even thought my gut warned me. Well this time, my gut is dead wrong I’m glad i stumbled on to the product, Try it for yourself, I think your be as shocked as i was!!! my only bad thing to say about it is, How come it took them this long to come up with it!!! lol
