This machine cut out on me after a year. NO LCD!!! I am livid. Spent about $600. The electronics just cut out. Kept powering off and on and now the tech help says it has to go to a service center – because the warranty expired. STAY AWAY FROM BROTHER. I had the older version for 13 years. Ran beautifully. Now this. What a sham. I am so disgusted.

Good printer and prints pretty fast with decent laser print quality. One thing we do like about this model is the large size cartridge it comes with. However, when tested to print photos the shading can be slightly uneven sometimes. One lesson’s learned is that when install driver on mac, if AirPrint is selected, the printer seems to be slower / waits a lot to print large / multiple file documents. Instead, the brother “CUPS” driver should be installed and printer will not pause when printing large / multiple files. The scanner is very handy. You can scan at printer and send to the computer, as long as the computer’s firewall / security suite allows it to be connected. I have no luck with company computer but all our home computers, including windows 10, mac, can be found by the printer and send the scan directly to. Scan quality is decent for black and white and color, etc. Unlike the large xerox printer at office, the pages are fed along the 8.5×11 paper on brother auto feeder, while xerox machine takes in from paper’s 11″ binder side (I think because xerox can also auto feed 11×17), This might be why the scanned frames are sometimes skewed through auto feeder on this brother machine, compared to the xerox printer at office. not a big deal in actual use. Of course it is not exactly fair comparison of this brother machine to the xerox, which could be a lot more expensive. Just something I noticed while using this machine. Overall it is good quality machine, does good job printing and scanning, very fast and efficient. Also, don’t mind the light flickering when it prints, apparently it draws a lot of current to crank out pages after pages very quickly.
Update: after months of using in home office, I am glad to report that we have not experienced any jamming or issues for scanning / coping. This printer is super fast and efficient. We printed a lot of documents and cartridge is still have a lot to go. Kids actually figured out how to use it to complete home work and like the simple touch screen interface. Thus we certainly think it is 5 star rating.

This was a bit of a risk because I have been using HP printers up to now – but what a surprise this printer is a class above the Others 7 inch display is the best screen size sit you can type easily on the LCD screen without feel cramped either numbers The tray is large with 520 page loading and scan is instant and you can exclude blanks full duplex scan and fax dual sides
– will not be disappointed – not going back to the panic kernel and constant reboots of the comparable hp printers – the staff in the office are very happy and got many thanks from everyone

Everyone at our small business loves it! Our 20-year old very simple copier finally bit the dust. The thing was so old people visiting our office for press checks (they happened to sell copiers) took pictures of it. It turns out parts are impossible to get when your copier is 20-years old so we had to retire the old girl. All we do is copy black and white labels and don’t need anything fancy. It seems there is not much to pick from in the mid-level copier range. You either get a $10,000 model that copies, staples, and makes you toast, or a $150 model that still prints, copies, scans, and faxes. So I went on a search reading reviews all over the place. I saw Costco was selling this model and I trust their buyers better than myself to spot quality so I decided to take a chance on this one. I like that you can get a high yield toner cartridge for 12,000 copies and load an entire ream of paper into it (less down time and less opportunity to mess something up). We’ve had it a few weeks now and everyone loves it. It super fast and makes great copies. More importantly, even the ones in the bunch a few fries short of a Happy Meal can operate it. Yeah! We were only looking for the copy function, but we’re also enjoying some additional features. I hooked it up to a computer and our WiFi network allowing us to scan (which opens an email on the connected computer which can then be sent to the person scanning), some are printing from their phones, and I was able to print both sides of our employee handbooks at one time without having to figure out how to flip and reload the paper into the “printer”. Another yeah! I didn’t even know it did that when I bought it. The only complaint I have is the noise. This thing is loud, much louder than the ancient machine it replaces, but it’s other benefits more than make-up for the noise. We just need to pause our conversations when it’s running – which means we get more work done.

I have had this for about a month and it works exactly as advertised. This was also easy to set up.

The MFC-6810DW is an impressive machine, loading a full ream and scanning a bundle of 50 with ease. Rated to print and copy 50 plus and scan faster 50 as advertised. Big machine, but easy to handle. Instructions and driver are down loadable.

Does exactly what I need it to for my small office.
PROS:
– Very fast printing, rated at 48 ppm and seem to achieve that or close to it.
– Extremely fast scanning, at least twice as fast as my other MFC (MFC-9330CDW), and transmits files quickly across network
– High-capacity automatic document feeder for scanning (80 pages) appears to be best in class by far
– Multi-function paper/envelope/label feeder is extremely useful for printing envelopes and holds 5 thick bond envelopes easily
– Large capacity main paper input tray holds a full ream of paper
– Can add another 500-sheet tray if needed
– Takes large toner cartridges that last practically forever
– Can be set up to order new toner from Amazon when it gets low
– Very little paper curl compared to other laser printers I have used – almost none!
– Documents look great
– Good price (especially here on Amazon!)
CONS:
– It’s a monochrome laser printer that by its nature is not good for photos and not great for graphics
– Doesn’t do the advanced finishing features of a high-end copier like paper alignment, punching, or stapling
This is a great machine for an office. I do not think you can do better without spending several times the price of this unit. If you can do your own stapling and hole punching, there’s really little need for a big and expensive photocopier with this machine around.
