This item immediately goes into my list of “best purchases”. It’s a fantastic heater with practically every single feature I could possibly want.

My girlfriend lives in a cold, upstairs apartment and doesn’t like to use her baseboard heating. I purchased this heater for myself during a move, and loaned it to her until I could make use of it. It’s been nothing short of amazing! The “medium” setting makes the entire room feel comfortable (good for late at night, right before bedtime) and high makes you feel nice and warm on a cold morning — especially while you’re getting dressed. It heats up her bedroom quickly, and will also heat the entire apartment (albeit much less so) if turned all the way up to max, and on maximum heat.

I have to say, I’ve never, ever seen a space heater perform like this. It doesn’t produce large amounts of directed heat, so sitting near it to warm up in the morning doesn’t work out as you’d expect. However, the timer function takes care of that entirely! I set the heater to turn itself on about 15 minutes before I get up in the morning, and when I’m up, the room is warm enough that it really doesn’t matter.

The timer function is a little odd — the dial on the front of the heater has a bunch of small physical switches on it. The idea is that you plug in the heater, flip the switches (down for on, up for off) according to the times you’d like the heater to automatically turn on. The heater does make an audible (but pretty quiet) clicking sound whenever it has power, which isn’t my favorite. The upside of this is that, if the power goes out or if you unplug the heater, you just have to rotate the dial to the approximate time of day in order to get back on schedule (unlike every single flipping digital alarm clock I’ve ever owned).

The first few times I used this heater, I was saddened to note how long it took to heat up. However, now that I’ve used it more, I find that it heats up faster. Other reviewers mention a funny oily smell the first few times they used it, and I can also attest to this. It took about a week of intermittent use before the smell went away.

One last thing to note: this heater is HEAVY. It’s definitely portable, but it isn’t like an electric heater that you can cart around with one hand. You definitely need both arms to carry it, you should probably lift with your legs, and you should ABSOLUTELY make sure it’s been off for quite a while before you move it.

That last part is the only major downside I’d note. Most of the heating elements exist deep down in parts of the heater that are hard to touch. You can leave your hand on the outside surface for two or three seconds before you feel the heat.

However, the plastic plates on both ends of the heater cover up these vents, and so heat actually goes through the plastic and out of the hand holds on both sides. This part can be rocket hot! You definitely need to let the heater cool down (or use towels or an oven mitt or something like that) before you try to move it!

All that aside, this is still one of the best items I’ve ever purchased.

This is the second Delonghi oil heater that I purchased through Amazon & I am completely satisfied with both of them. (I also purchased the Delonghi HM25E Dragon Ultimate Oil Filled Radiator Heater purchased in 2005, twice the cost, twice the heater.)

I like the size of this smaller one a little more — it fits better into the small space where I am using it. We use it in a 10′ x 10′ main bathroom. The room is not insulated (85 year old home) and gets almost no heat from the home’s central heating system (radiated water heat).

I have used it every day this winter and found that it is more than adequate for this room, even on the coldest winter days. The temperature recently has dropped to -5 F overnight (Chicago) and I have the heater set on high to turn on 60-90 minutes before I get up. The bathroom is always nice and toasty in the AM, even though the exterior wall is cold to the touch.

I was concerned about the safety of using an electric heater in the bathroom because of electric shock and fire risk. No problem on either account. I recommend using a GFCI electric outlet to reduce the risk of electric shock; also, the oil-filled radiator does not build up an excessive amount of heat (as long as you don’t cover it – keep it open so heat can radiate away from it).

The heater has on/off switches (one for high, one for low) and a electro-mechanical timer. You set the current time with the dial, then set the timer to turn on & off as much as you wish during the day. You can be accurate to within about 15-30 minutes. The unit must stay plugged in for it to keep accurate time. Electronic LED timers (like on the Delonghi Dragon) can be set more accurately, but usually have a limited number of on/off automatic settings (Dragon has a limit of 2).

This heater also has a “thermostat” of sorts. It doesn’t give a temperature, just gives a min/max range of 1-6 (my other one goes to 11). A 6 setting for about an hour is necessary for a toasty 10×10 bathroom at 0 degrees F, while setting at 3 for an hour is sufficient at 32 degrees.

Energy consumption – my electric bill increased only about $8-10/mo from fall to winter, a small price to pay.

The heater is short (about 16-18 inches)& very stable, fits under my pedestal sink between the sink & tub – perfect spot. It gets hot to the touch, but not so that you (or a child) might burn yourself.

It’s a very good and sturdy heater. Note that it will only heat an extremely small space like a small bathroom.

The product seems to be defective. It worked for 45 minutes and then conked off. The product Jasbir the pins which do not fit in to any Indian sockets.

Exborder products should be banned in India as they are not conducive for Indian market.

One looses money. 3 weeks for delivery and 2 weeks for refund. Then you pay for return charges.

Great oil heater. The 24-hour timer is in 15 minute increments. It’s perfect for a large or small room. Heat a lot, or heat a little – you can set it to low, med and high heat. It radiates very well. Very durable design and not too big and bulky.
