After assembling the processor as per instructions and placing it on our existing Ascent machine, there was an error symbol that just would not go away. We contacted Vitamix Australia to see if there was anything else that we should be doing. As soon as I mentioned that I had purchased a Vitamix Food Processor Attachment, the person asked me if I had ordered it through Amazon; when I confirmed that that was the case, the verdict was that the US product was not compatible with the Australian Series. Apparently, there has been talk about having a compatible processor here for some years now, but there is no indication of when/if there will be one. Maybe it would be better if Amazon did not advertise or sell this product at all. It’s true that there is no problem with returning it, but it is all a big waste of time, and creates false expectations, as we were all fired up to start using it as soon as it arrived. That is the reason for the 1 star.
Apart from that, I am still happy with the way Amazon operates, including the easiness of returns and refunding. To this I would give 5 stars.

This thing is quite powerful yet not as loud as the blender attachment. The multi-use blade has a similar function to the blender while not being as loud. You can’t control the speed, so you use time to increase the processing. the lower-priced Amazon kit is great it would be even better if they sold the food processor alone with the multi-use bade and the discs separately to reduce the price. You may find yourself using this often as it comes apart much easier than the blender pitcher and is just so much quieter. we learned the hard way to be careful cleaning the plastic these pitchers are made of. Hopefully, it doesn’t develop any cracks or damage from long-term use, but it does have a three-year warranty which is longer than a one-year manufacturer warranty of cheaper products. It is difficult to close and open, but the key is to just hit it with your closed fist in a palm strike or karate chop motion. Or, hit it with the back of the blender tamper. Also, you must use two hands on each side to safely open it. I don’t have very long nails and did break one one time trying to open it with one hand. The closure needs some redesign, but it is workable. Sadly some people returned these for this reason. I do think it’s worth criticizing, but is not worth more than a 1 star deduction.

I really like this food processor attachment. I have had a number of processors but this one so far does everything it says it will do. I have made biscuit dough and they were more flacky than mine, same recipe. I also made my favorite pie crust which makes 4 pie crust, You just put the ingredients in as you would and turn it on. So easy. I love the fact that all of the attachment parts go into my dishwasher and comes out looking great. I have also shredded, chopped and sliced so far it works well.

This is NOT a compact unit! But if you need to prepare up to 12 cups of food, this Vitamix food processor is great. I also have the extra blades available for it. I’ve used all the blades for different preparations and was never disappointed. To be honest, I use the basic “S” blade most of the time, but the slicer blades come in handy every now and then. Cleaning is easy with water and you can use soap (on the automatic wash cycle). It is dishwasher safe, but I always clean it my hand.

This is a top notch food processor. I may be biased because I love most Vitamix stuff. Thing is, it stows away fairly easily but not as intended by Vitamix unless your cabinets are fairly tall. It can be difficult to remove the lid but will get easier with use. I think it works better with larger jobs than small. It does only have one speed so your chop consistency is a result of time adjustment rather than speed adjustment. And, it does a great job. There will be waste with smaller feeds that tend to get caught in corners. But it made a wonderful pesto sauce and Caesar dressing for me. I was bummed that the Vitamix perfect blend app does not have the food processor as a container option. The perfect blend app makes a wonderful pesto but because you can’t drizzle the olive oil in slowly, the oil separates from the other ingredients in an alarming manner. You literally waste half the olive oil that the recipe calls for. This wouldn’t be an issue if the food processor could be used as an attachment.
In any event, the food processor is GOLDEN!

The Vitamix food processor is a brilliant attachment that combines the strength of the Vitamix motor with food processing. The attachment is a smart tool that gears down the speed of the food processor spindle by seven-fold. It is pretty easy to test this theory by comparing the rotation of the axle that attaches to the coupling device on the motor and the rotation of the axle that the S-blade/ discs attaches to. The food processor makes smooth humus and is a great tool of making nut butters. The benefit of using the food processor to make nut butter is that it is easier to clean than using the blender jug. The only mistake that Vitamix has made is in the instructions for making nut butter – it is not possible to make nut butter in 2.5 minutes in a food processor. The real time is about 5-10 minutes and it will require several attempts. Attached is a photo showing the nut butter – it is pretty comical that it is rolled into a ball but it definitely is nut butter. It is a shame that Vitamix has no intentions to release this attachment outside USA and Canada as many Vitamix users around the world would find it incredibly useful.

Dislike: the fact that Vitamix doesn’t provide an international version of this product.
Like: blender can work largely as expected and is a nice addition to your Vitamix.
Fyi, the description states that this product only works with the US version. I’d recommend them increasing the size of this or creating a warning before the order can be submitted.

The vitamix processor attachment works great!. The only but I have is I purchased this as a discounted item f4om Amazon warehouse. A small demarcation on the lid was listed. Unfortunately whoever had it first had washed it with an abrasive scrub pad, so all the plastic has mild demarcation which was not advertised. It is not a big deal but I wish it was noted as it is in the food bowl and all clear and black surfaces.

From the build quality perspective, this appliance is great – neatly made, looks sturdy, has everything you need for everyday cooking. The only problem is that I cannot use it! And I can only blame myself as I made a terrible mistake ordering this one from the Amazon US for my brand new Vitamix 2500i ASCENT purchased from Amazon DE in Europe (I’m in EU). When I unboxed and installed the appliance on my Vitamix/EU, it nicely fitted in place but refused to work; it looked like the motor base does not recognise the appliance. I changed to the blending bowl which was delivered as a unit with my Vitamix/EU and it worked perfectly, but this Food Processor Attachment did not. It turns out the Amazon page contained the information that the appliance is compatible only with the Vitamix-es purchased in US/CA only, but unfortunately I missed it. And that was my mistake. When they said it is compatible only with the devices manufactured for US/CA only, they meant it – it does not work on the device manufactured for Europe. Alas, I could not find the food processor attachment in Amazon DE store so I was so happy (and naive) to order it from US. As I learned later from the Vitamix FAQ, they are just “… working to design Blending Cups and Blending Bowls for use with A2300i, A2500i, and A3500i machines in Europe, and will announce the release of those containers at a later date.” So, if you’re from EU looking for the food processor attachment in US store, beware – don’t repeat my mistake.

Warning to all interested in purchasing a Vitamix Food Processor Attachment from Amazon in the USA to be used in the UK with their Vitamix 3500. It will not work. So frustrated as cannot return or befit from this expensive Christmas present for my wife. And, since I purchased as Christmas present, in advance, can lo longer return 🙁
