It makes a good deal of difference who you purchase your equipment from.
SonicWall TZ270 Network Security Appliance is a solid piece of equipment. The corporate SonicWALL tech support is based in India and consists of “script readers” that have no idea about how the equipment operates. Additionally, SonicWall requires that even to get diagnostic help on newly purchased equipment; you have to subscribe to a service. I have a doctorate in computer systems management and over 20 years as a CTO (now retired). I know when equipment is not operating correctly.
I purposely purchased the equipment from BlueAlly through Amazon Marketplace. A delightful and competent BlueAlly Customer Service representative is was able to do get a resolution started with one phone call. Be sure you research your vendor.

Easy to setup it took about 30mins
If you are tech savvy
Works great ,
In a few days I will start to purchase subscription services

Loading an old config from 2019 from a ‘soho’ model saved me 4-6 hours of router programming. Interface could be faster though.

I bought this brand new device for my business to create a VPN. The directions are insufficient to setup. I’ve spent probably 3 full weekends with the device following their directions and off brand Youtube tutorials; still can’t get the VPN part running.
I additionally purchased another set of VPN liscenses to extend my product (since you only get one VPN user), however none of them work. Nothing is returnable.
When I reached out for support, there is an additional fee; no support but the link to the document I’d been following.
I wish I picked a different VPN hardware company. Now I’m stuck with a brick. ๐

The setup is pretty easy and one just needs to have some understanding of network security to set things up properly.

Sonic wall is very robust in terms of a firewall. There is a bit of a learning curve, especially if you are a novice IT person. But once it’s in, it’s very effective.

My first firewall VPN tunnel installation. Quite a learning curve but got it all working. Buying another with wifi for the next installation. Customer very pleased.
