Most people would say, I’m “old”. So I remember when Sears/Craftsman was a go-to brand for pretty much any tools. So I was drawn to this saw because of the brand. It is built like a Craftsman tool should be, solid. It’s just simply built like a tool that will do what it’s made for, for YOUR lifetime.

This cuts very well and allows you to precisely get what cut you need, very good handsaw, well worth it. Lightweight as well.

ligero y comodo, ojala dure para el uso continuo

I used it for small trees starting to grow on my property. It’s a handy little tool !

The blade is held on with two opposing posts on removable attachments on either side of the blade. The blade slipped off during use – the posts do not permit much flex in the blade because they are very short, and it doesn’t take much tension for the blade to slip off. Putting the blade back on is annoying because both attachments are removable (cost cutting?) so for best results you need to be on a table holding the hacksaw horizontally. Not great when you are wedged somewhere uncomfortable.
If you are going to use this for light work in perfect bench conditions, this will probably work for you. If you are going to use this for hard work at odd angles, you may run into issues. I just know there are better products out there that wouldn’t have failed in the same way. It’s a cliche, but my decades old hacksaw at home has never failed in such a way. Your mileage may vary.
Ultimately, this worked for my one job, so I gave it 4 stars. I think it could use some improvement, and if you are looking for a long term hacksaw, I don’t think this is it.

I bought this after my foldable saw that I used to cut small trees down broke at the end of the blade. This saw is a good replacement, but it does take more effort to cut down trees. If you’re interested in a saw that uses less effort, you should probably look into something else (albeit it will be more expensive).
For my purposes, this was cheap and I’m able to cut down Christmas tree size trunks (with some effort). It probably isn’t designed for this but it seems sturdy enough.
