I have the Klein 16 ounce version of this hammer. I like it but will get this one to back up this one and the southwire version of this hammer. I own regular hammers but I like unique hammers and this is an excellent electricians hammer for pulling out staples and nails and to drive both in. I like the fact that both this hammer and the southwire hammer have the extended hammer head. It is intended to drive nails in gang and outlet boxes. The notches on the claws of this hammer are for pulling the staples in romex wire just the same as the southwire hammer but these are v-notched and the southwire version are shaped in such a way that they pull out staples. I will in the future purchase this hammer as back up to my southwire and Vaughan hammer (which is also an electricians hammer as well). The Vaughan hammer doesn’t have a staple puller as do the Klein and southwire hammers do but function as good as the 2 with staple pullers. Get both the Klein and southwire as back up to each other. So if one breaks you have the other one to continue with the job at hand and no worries of going to the hardware store or electrical supply house and purchasing another one. Don’t waist time just get it if you need it.

This hammer works great at removing old NM staples. Doing a remodel and this has made a breeze for removing old NM staples. Also decent at removing staples that decide they want one leg to go into the next zip code when installing.

Great hammer for electricians! The 18-ounce weight is just right, and the shock-absorbing grip makes it comfortable to use all day. The straight claw is perfect for pulling nails, and the tether hole adds extra safety. Durable and well-designed

Love this thing. Pulling wire staples is why I got it. Works perfectly. Nice feel. It’s a little heavy but still feels good in the hand.

Very good quality handle feels very good but its balance is too far near the head , feels like a 22oz in my opinion. Appart from that its great .

I bought it for the head design and weight but needed it for an electrician’s pouch. The bulkiness of the handle/head causes it to hang rigid in the leather hammer loop, which in turn stiff catches my calf, interfering with my ability to walk. Replaced it w/a Estwing and the narrow, one piece forged shaft/head of the Estwing allow it to fit looser in the loop and swing more freely, so it doesn’t catch my calf or interfere w/walking in any way.

I really love this hammer, it’s simple and straight forward, no bells and whistles, not gimmicks, just a solid hammer to knock about the job site or garage.
The head being slightly narrow really helps when working in tight spaces and allows solid strikes without worrying about hitting other electrical components. Carpenters hammers tend to have larger, broader faces which are perfect for nailing and framing, but for electrical, they can be a bit wieldy and cumbersome. I found this narrow with the slightly longer neck to be very beneficial and easily able to work around junction boxes, studs and placing Romex staples.
The fiberglass handles also offers a bit more protection against electrocution as it’s non-conductive.
The 18 ounce is a reasonably heavy hammer, strong enough for most jobs and I’m very happy to have it.
The bright orange also makes it easier to find in the shop/job site.
Great product from Klein, as always!
