I have been using this Black+Decker mouse 1.2 amp electric detail sander for a few years now and still works perfect. I bought it here with extra sanding pads. This is light weight and easy to use. The sander is fantastic for all the jobs I have done in the past. Built well to last. Thanks seller & Amazon for fast shipping. I like to review later on products.

The sander has plenty of power and I refinish furniture. Picked this one for size and ease of use and it did not disappoint. Didn’t need another big sander and this one fit the job. I’m actually going to use it for a cabinet refinishing project soon as well

We used this to rough sand a bunch of furniture for painting. Changing the sanding pads was very simple and it was comfortable to hold and use. We won’t use this heavily but was great for the small job we had.

I just bought, and began using, the BLACK+DECKER Detail Sander. It’s a real gem in the realm of power tools. Compact yet mighty, this sander has become my go-to for all my sanding endeavors.
With its 1.2 Amp motor, it effortlessly smooths surfaces, whether I’m refining furniture or prepping for a fresh coat of paint. The 16,000 orbits per minute (OPM) speed ensures quick and precise sanding, leaving behind a polished finish that’s hard to beat.
What sets this sander apart is its thoughtful design. The 3-position grip isn’t just a gimmick; it genuinely enhances comfort during prolonged use. And let’s not forget the dust collector – a game-changer for keeping my workspace tidy and my lungs happy.
In short, the BLACK+DECKER Detail Sander is more than just a tool; it’s a reliable companion for anyone who takes pride in their craft. Trust me; you won’t regret adding this powerhouse to your toolkit.

For the price, this thing does what I need it to do. It’s easy to maneuver, it has plenty of power to sand things, and the sanding pads are easy enough to deal with. I got some cheap third-party extras, because it only comes with a couple, and they work fine.
It’s not quiet, but it could certainly be louder. My phone measured it at about 87-90dB from a couple feet away. I don’t have a good frame of reference.
The only thing I dislike is that it barely collects any dust. I lined up the holes and shoved the dust collector onto it as hard as could, but I’d say it collects maybe 1/8 of the dust. As in, I used it for half an hour and the dust collector wasn’t even a quarter full.

My children helped out with the sanding process and it was a great experience. It went by so smoothly, I used 2 of the grits and they worked perfectly, however they wear out fast. (I purchased extra ones)
It is such a great little Sander, great value for money, super easy to use,
Little box that accumulates the powder worked great after pushing it in hard so that it would stay put.

As always Black + Decker devices very good quality, very useful.

This is my third B&D “mouse” sander, they all were easy to hold, aim and control, and do the jobs I need really well. When you refinish doors, moldings, etc you want a larger sander to cover a lot of area, but for a slightly uneven deck with boards convexed or concaved you need a sander that can follow the contour of the wood and the mouse does that really well. Yes there are more expensive detail sanders out there, but the B&D ones give the best product for the buck. The grip is soft foam and when used with cloth work gloves sufficiently dampens vibration that my carpal tunnels don’t bother me. Using 60-120 grit paper and light pressure, I only need to go over a spot 5-10 x to reach bare wood thru 4 costs of Olympic semi transparent stain. Now a mouse only lasts me about 5 years for about 3-500 hours of sanding, but a heavy metal competitors sander would never allow me to hold it up over my head to do railing spindles and arbors because they are too heavy yo keep working hour after hour. When they finally fail, I assume the brushes wear out, because you need to shake the unit you try to start it and in some orientations it will not start. In older units the long finger attachment was flush to the rest of the sanding bed, but on the newest one the finger is raised perhaps 3/16” higher, this is a bad thing from my standpoint because you need to be taking the finger on and off to complete a job. The Velcro sanding pads hold the paper well and make for a. Quick, no tools style of change. I find the new units slide switch difficult to turn on and off with dusty gloves on, the older style push button/rocker switches were easier to use but we’re located in a poor place at the extreme front of the housing where it was likely to get bumped when you tried to sand railing spindles. The newer location on the handle is better for resisting accidental shot offs. If there were one improvement I’d like to see in the next design, it would be a sander that is flatter to the sandpaper so I can reach farther between railing spokes and in tight spaces without being constrained by the handle.
