Used these to do some electrical in my rental. Very handy tools

These are functional but not great and overpriced compared to comparable sets elsewhere. I’ve included a picture to show how poorly the faces interface on the needle nose pliers. The others are very similar. I guess they wouldn’t be fine for tiny jobs that don’t require precision. I have jewelers pliers and these are worse than useless in comparison. For half the price you can walk in and get a similar set at Harbor Freight without even using a coupon. If you need jewelers tools you’re better off buying decent tools one at a time.

The BLACK+DECKER Plier Set, Mini, 6-Piece is a nice set. I mainly ordered it cause I keep losing my mini anvil cutters.

Love this set of pliers. You get 6 different pieces in a nylon carrying case. You get three 4 inch ones with different tops and three 5 inch that have different tops. Just about every kind of plier that you can think of. The handles are comfort and grip nicely. Great set to keep in your drawer and use a lot. Looks like they are well-made and should last a long time. Great price too.

Perfect for wire crafting or precision work. Hardened steel cutting edges can handle thin wire (I’ve used it on up to 14-gauge) without deforming, the plier jaws grip securely, and the handles are comfortable to grip and don’t slip. And everything fits nicely into the case.

He… wasn’t a fan, but I was really excited for this set. He uses tools on the daily and I generally just ask for the tools I need as I have no idea where they’re located. Recently I started building up a small collection of just-for-me items so at least I’d know where they are, have them readily available. This set, really is rather perfect for me. Small tools, small hands, variety of plier options including the end cutting bit. The toolkit itself came in a really nice small nylon carrying case, really portable. Everything feels kind of made for my scale of use.
The SO, not the biggest fan. “If I buy tools I try to buy high quality tools I know are good so I know they will last. These are not those tools. The finish on the steel is rough. The fit of the pieces together isn’t terrible, it isn’t great either. They just don’t feel sturdy.” He went on to say he doesn’t think they’re all bad, and for the price it’s not bad for me to have them around …in case of plier emergencies? I can’t begin to fathom. “There is a nice array of tools from a small channel lock to smooth flat nose pliers. They will absolutely get a small job done for you. Just don’t expect this to be a workhorse set you will use everyday.”
As for me, so far so good. Haven’t noticed any rapid degradation or other issues. I can clearly discern it’s not on part with the quality of a $100+ set, I think for the price these are pretty great. Very much in distinctly better shape than most of the other tools I could dig up around this house. Clearly, ymmv.

I ordered these for when I work on small electronics, I thought they might come in handy. I finally got around to a project where I needed to use them and they seem to work fine so far. I’m not sure that they’re worth $20, as they do not scream “high quality”, but they should serve my needs for the occasional project and not more hardcore use.

This is a nice set to have in the kitchen or somewhere on the first floor so you can have an assortment of these pliers around when you need them instead of having to hunt through the basement or garage for them. It’s also a nice set to let other people in the house use so that your stuff isn’t missing when you go to use it.
The tools themselves are a little bit heavier than I expected – which is a good thing. The motion on them is firm enough and not so loose that they just want to swing open on you like a lot of the less expensive versions of these smaller pliers seem to. The case is ok but I can already see the elastic straps getting ripped to shreds over time. Everything is kinda packed into the case so tightly and almost on top of each other that it can make getting the tools in and out of their locations in the case a little bit frustrating at times but overall it’s a nice little set that I’d totally recommend either as a spare around the house or if you’re living in an apartment.

I intended to use these for my HO slot car box. But the side cutters don’t cut. When fully closed there’s maybe a 32d of gap. It just crushes stuff instead of cutting. I’ll now go invest in the xcelite pliers I was trying not to buy. The other pliers seem to be okay so the set is worth the $20.

This is a fairly nice set of mini-pliers, with case, at a very reasonable price. As a woodworker, leather worker and DIYer I have a few other mini pliers of higher quality, but one pair of those costs more than this entire set.
I was surprised by how nice the case is (remember the price range here). The pliers fit in snugly and take a little effort to remove them, but they probably won’t fall out easily. There’s actually 2 elastic bands for each pair of pliers, one for the handle area and one for the plier jaw.
There are spring handles on 5 of the 6 tools in this kit. The 5” groove joint pliers don’t have one for obvious reasons. The springs work well and are fairly strong. I’m not sure how long they will last, and there’s no spares if you lose or break one. Oh, some of them will squeak when in use.
The sizes listed are the lengths from the tip of the plier jaw to the base of the handle when the pliers are fully opened. They are ~1/2” longer when they are closed.
The machining of the plier jaws is very good. When closed there’s no gaps in the mating of the opposing jaws. I’ve had other cheap tools (long since given away) where the 2 jaws didn’t come together and you could see between the jaws.
The handles are comfortable in the hand and there’s a good proportion between the jaws and handles. Remember, these are MINI pliers and should be used for smaller and finer work. For example, the flat nose pliers are great for pulling a needle through leather for hand stitching, but I probably wouldn’t use them for furnace steel ducting.
Overall this is a pretty good set of mini pliers with case for about 20 bucks.
