There is no comparison for this kit. I work in construction building houses, foundations, plumbing, electrical, remodels and additions. Before I started using these tools, cords were a way of life. Now, I find that breaking out corded tools is a very rare occurrence. We have even framed whole houses without breaking out a single corded tool! I have used Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, Ridgid, and Ryobi cordless tool systems, and for me these DeWalt tools blow them all away. The difference in buying this kit as opposed to the DCK590L2 was the fact that the sawzall had the 4 position chuck instead of the 2 position chuck, and the circular saw had the lighter magnesium base, as opposed to a stamped steel base. The circular saw lasts forever, ripping 2x material for tens of lineal feet before a battery loses its charge. The impact driver is indispensable, being used to drive screws, bolts, lags and even drill holes with the three LED lights illuminating the workpiece brilliantly. There are a plethora of accessories available to fit its 1/4″ hex quick release chuck. The flashlight is very bright and lasts a very long time. The sawzall with its four way chuck allows flush cuts in very tight spaces. Finally, the hammer drill can be used to drill holes in concrete and masonry, yet is very versatile with its 1/2″ chuck for drilling just about everything. One drawback for this kit is the price, but compared to the 18v XRP it is actually a good deal considering the technology gap between the two systems. The other drawback is the absence of the angle grinder, which is a tool that we break out all the time in our line of work, and a tool that used to come in the 18v version of this kit. The benefit of buying this kit is that there are many options for expansion once you have taken the plunge. Currently in addition to this kit I own the angle grinder, 1/2″ impact wrench, oscillating multi tool, and brushless impact and drill, all of which are offered in the 20V MAX system. Note that this kit comes with the 3 Ah batteries; I have supplemented these with 4 of the 4 Ah batteries and they are definitely a better buy. Overall, however, I would recommend DeWalt and the 20V MAX system to anyone who wants quality tools and isn’t afraid to pay for them. These tools make me a lot of money and will continue to do so for a long time!

Bought this set for for some heavy home remodeling jobs and I’ve been floored by everything in the set. I upgraded from a similiar set of Craftsman 19.2V tools and I’ve been blown away by how much more efficient these tools are, while being more powerful. The most used tool in the whole set so far has been the impact driver, and it was my first ever impact driver and I don’t know how I functioned so long without this tool. I was able to drive in several hundreds screws into cement board and sub-floor with one battery and it never stuttered through the whole job. I also used the circular saw to cut that same cement board and had no issues with it binding up or the battery draining while cutting several sheets. For reference my Craftsman set would die after about 6 feet of cutting with a full charge and a brand new Li-ion battery. Surprisingly for me the least used tool so far has been the actual drill, because I’m used to using a drill for driving and now that I’m only using it for drilling it doesn’t get pulled out that much, however it has incredible power as well and I’ve used it for drilling large holes with paddle bits and it just chews through wood like nothing.
My only real complaint is with the charger. I have a large workbench with pegboard and I’d like to wallmount the charger especially given the way the battery fits into it horizontally, but there are no screwholes to mount it this way. I also had a multiple battery charger with my Craftsman set, but it doesn’t appear that Dewalt has a similiar option. With my Craftsman set I could charge 4 batteries one after the other, but I had to buy a second charger to charge two batteries.

Like most people you may be looking for information to help you make the best buying decision. In general it is difficult to distinguish between brands and so many options for one type of product.
In this specific case the Kit Dewalt 20V DCK592l2 ” PREMIUM “, my opinion is quite favorable. Perhaps the first distinction is that this kit is called ” PREMIUM ” only by the difference in the two saw models (about 590l2 DEWALT kit ), this because the materials and functions of both saws are better ( DCS380 Reciprocating saw, has the ability to locate the saw in 4 positions and DCS391 61/2 ” Circular Saw is made of better materials) the other three components of the kit are the same.
The decision to buy a kit , although it is not common for an “unprofessional user” , in this case I think it is worth it and the price you pay .
Advantages:
– The quality of each own brand Dewalt tool .
– Lithium ion batteries Vrs . NiCad / NiMh
– Extraordinary strength by having batteries 20v and 3 AMP .
– The battery charger is very efficient (1 hour or less for fully discharged batteries ) .
– The amount of available accessories.
Disadvantages:
– Despite having a briefcase, could be very useful an individual case to help protect each tool to beat each other in the bag .
– When required to transport a single tool does not have a kit and full kit has a significant weight and size.
Finally , the combination of hammer drill (DCD985 1/2″) and Impact driver ( DCF885 1/4″ ) is perfect and allows less wear on each tool as can be combine in many tasks.
This product is high quality and highly recommended although not all the tools are regularly used.
I hope this information is helpful . Best regards.

Saludos.
