It is a fine product except for the screws. They easily round out (even with a pilot hole).
Ken Mitchell –
Sturdy, easy to mount. Does what I need it to.

I like that it’s for a heavy duty lock easy to install

I recently started cleaning several years of old junk and garbage out of my old but large shed in the backyard. After several weeks of working through the large old shed in my free hours after work, I realized there is quite a bit of nice free space. I stored several useful items in my shed and then started thinking I would like to make sure this stuff was safe, and I decided the small old tiny lock on the shed door wasn’t going to cut it. I decided to get this and install it on the shed door. It works excellent I also added a sizeable thick padlock on this very sturdy Master Lock Hasp. I am optimistic it would take a giant sledgehammer to get into that shed now, well, without the key to the padlock.

It is a well made hasp but it has a design issue that could be improved. The way it hinges just seems off to me. It looks like it could be bent open.
Robert Adams –
Very sturdy and would be difficult to try and pry off and combined with a lock that is very tamper resistant would make it very difficult and time consuming for a thief to gain access to my barn.
HERBERT LANDRY JR –
This thing is heavy duty. Easy to install. In my case, had to modify but worked out well.

Hasp is heavy duty, and (with some fidgeting) will close and conceal the screws. However, hasp only opens back about 80 degrees. Not even a full 90. We needed a hasp to lock two driveway gates that come together in the middle, and really thought it would open all the way back. The tongue that mounts the actual hasp is long and narrow, and only holds three screws, instead of short and wide and made for four screws. So naturally the tongue sticks out about 1/4 of an inch past the edge of the gate. Just enough to catch the edge of the companion gate so it gets hung up on it. Ugh! It came with the screws to mount it, but apparently they are made of the cheapest butter metal known to man. We had to replace those because even after pre-drilling the holes we couldn’t drive them in without the heads stripping out. This hasp might work fine if you’re mounting it to a stationary wall to lock a door, and you replace the screws first, but don’t use it for gates.
