I needed a clicker for an event and was short on time, so I decided to take a chance on an off brand. I’m used to the classic Logitech, but didn’t want to drop 30-40 bucks on something that might or might not get used. This was the one I decided on.

Overall it’s a good remote. I’m happy with the range….I’ve been able to get upwards of 100′ when keeping direct line of sight. I try to carry a USB extension so I can get the receiver up high.
It seems to be very much plug and play. There are a few hoops to jump through when using on Mac, but it works without any downloads or trouble.
I’m very torn on the design. Again, I’m used to the Logitech units that fit in the hand very naturally and have left/right buttons for advancing slides. I’m not a huge fan of the up/down buttons like this has just because it’s not self explanatory as to which is advance and which is back. Left/right seems natural, so it takes telling the presenter what’s what if they aren’t used to that layout.
I really wish there were fewer buttons….a simple advance/back feature and laser button would be sufficient. The multipurpose button is not very useful IMO and I could do without it, or at least with it not being the top button. Slide advance buttons need to be at the top so you can know what button you have your finger on without having to count or look. Also, the volume rocker is not useful to me either. If you need to adjust volume during a presentation, you need to have someone else controlling it IMO. That rocker is very easy to press not meaning to, which can cause the volume to level to be reflected on screen depending on your setup.

These are just personal gripes. The one real issue I have is the pocket clip. I agree one needs to be present on a design like this, but it should be much more sturdy than it is. This one could be broken by simply playing with it with one finger. Way too flimsy to be of use. I’ve managed to keep mine attached, but I can see that being a big drawback.

Overall, if you don’t use a clicker much and you prefer the pencil design, this isn’t a bad option. Just memorize the button placement and don’t mess with the pocket clip much.

Did not dislike anything about this presenter. I plugged in the USB dongle and it all worked right away. The dongle is captured into the presenter when not plugged in to a computer and held in place with an internal magnet for a nice touch. It all worked great EXCEPT I learned the laser pointers do not work well with TV screens but that is not unique to this presenter. The presenter has a nice bright red laser and the cats love it.

Update: The company reached out to me and tried to troubleshoot the problem. The troubleshooting didn’t help. However, the company sent me a replacement promptly. Like, the next day it arrived! I have updated my review due to the customer service from the company and the willingness they had to try to help and solve the problem. Very happy to have a replacement for my classroom!

I loved this when it came….but, unfortunately, it only lasted 5 months. I used this in my classroom every morning to go through slides with my students. I loved the pointer feature and the mouse feature. It was green, which was easy for my students to see. The battery held great.
But, this only worked for 5 months. I had thought it would last at least 1 year to 1.5 years. It turns on, but will not switch the slides, even though I can hear the sound notifying me that it connected to the computer.
I would definitely go with a different brand due to the fact that it didn’t last even half of a year.

This is a knockoff, which is fine by me for the price paid. However, after using it only 3 times, now the laser always turned on. The rest works fine, but I can’t have this light work all the time.

The product is quite good and works as expected. One reason for choosing this product is it had the needed feature of controlling the volume from the presenter, some models like Logitech did not have. At the same time I would like to mention that this product ships from abroad and can take up to 3 weeks to deliver. So if its not urgent, then go ahead and place an order…… And now since last two weeks (Sept ’19) or so it stopped working. Don’t know if it is under any kind of warranty..

I bought this presenter to use in my classroom while teaching students.
It doesn’t function when you are more than 2 meters far from its USB.
Consequently, I had to borrow another presenter from one of my colleagues.

This is a very easy to use tool. Worked well with an Epson projector, a multiple screen projection system and with a Dell Computer. It is easy to syn with the facilities systems. Used for three major presentations

The DinoFire Wireless Presenter replaces my old and cheap method of presenting with my blue-tooth mouse (yes, really). Not only is it easier to navigate through my PowerPoint slides with the DinoFire than the mouse’s scroll-wheel, the DinoFire allows me to easily switch between open programs, including the desktop, or to display a blank screen, though not all at the same time ;-). Similarly, it has a laser pointer which is far more effective than shadow puppets (unintentional or otherwise), and makes for great fun with cats (and some humans).

The receiver has a fairly low profile, and is pictured with the DinoFire in a 15” laptop for size comparison. It sticks out just far enough that I do not recommend leaving it installed when not in use. The receiver is easily removed and stored in the pointer itself, held in place via a magnet. I highly recommend against putting it back in the pointer upside-down for storage. It might seem like a good idea, at least it did to me (face-palm), but you WILL have a hard time getting it back out (unless you have super powers for handling slippery plastic surfaces that defy clumsy fat fingers).

The pointer itself has more features than I personally use. For all its specs, options, and software see the manufacturer’s website via your amazing Google-foo: I would include a link here, but want to stay friends with Amazon ♥. It fits neatly in my hand, shirt pocket, pants pocket, or in any (in)convenient place where I might absently set it down (nope, it does not have a homing beacon).

I have used it now on either a daily or a weekly basis for several months without any hiccups or need for battery replacement. Well, except the day I forgot to plug the receiver into the laptop. Took me a bit to figure out why it would not navigate my slides, especially since the pointer worked just fine (face-palm take two). One other tidbit: it helps to turn it on.

So, I highly recommend spending a little on the DinoFire, especially as a mouse replacement for both presentations and cats.

I purchased the DinoFire fair-and-square, and did not participate in the dubious activity of a paid promotion.

Use in a music classroom for some of my slideshow lessons. Works well enough and it’s tiny so it’s easy to transport places.
