I had to replace my Tappan microwave I’ve had since January of 1993. That’s not a typo. I’ve had it almost 32 years. Original lightbulb too. Broke my heart when it stopped working normally. Obviously they don’t make those anymore. Soooo…
After tons of research, I chose this Black & Decker. I knew it had a push bar to open the door versus a pull handle like my Tappan. I wanted a handle. Still getting used to the change. Has nothing to do with the functionality; just me learning the change.
Only issue is it can slide around a bit when pushing the bar to open the door or press the buttons or shut the door. I solved that with a $1 non-slip pad from the dollar store I put underneath it. Issue solved!
Easy to plug in and use. It looks very elegant and modern, yet it also blends in with my fairly eclectic decor. It’s quiet and beeps 5 times when done. The power levels seem extremely accurate. Fits all my larger dinner plates and TV dinners.
Bottom line: after all my research, I’m confident I chose the right one for my needs. Keep in mind, I’m single with my kitty cat. So it’s just me using it as an adult.

I have only used a couple of days but B&D is usually reliable. I got rid of an 1100 W microwave because it took up too much counter space and blew fuse if used with air fryer. I worried that a smaller (700 W) would be terrible in comparison but it just takes a bit longer. Steel cut oats used to take 2 mins 20 seconds and this one took 3 minutes.
I am returning this just because frozen meals don’t seem to heat right through and I worry about dangers of undercooked. Part was very hot and the rest just warm. I will order one size up to hopefully solve that. Disappointed since returning is not easy.

If you are not getting an inverter microwave, such as Sharp or Panasonic, you are basically choosing among rebranded microwaves. This one is simple and gets the job done, and if you are a single person, 0.7 is more than enough, as it can accommodate big salad bowl, this was enough for me to heat my comfort food, should be good enough for the most people too.

I like that it works ,I can cook or heat my food fast,plus easy to keep clean. I don’t have any dislikes, true to color, already in tact just plug it up. I can see the food while it’s cooking that’s great make it so easy to use.plus not too noises.the brightness help to see the food while it’s cooking.long power cord that great . power are great.

I love this small microwave. It is perfect for quick warm ups. Nice and compact, but large enough for a dinner plate to fit inside. However, my large coffee from Dunkin Donuts is too tall and does not fit. Very reliable and I love the classic look. The touch for the buttons are stiff and takes a little pressure when selecting your setting, but you will adjust quickly to the touch. I’m very happy with this product.

The microwave is good quality it is loud for a little bit but then it does sound goes down and it’s good when I try to microwave food in the middle of the night and my husband doesn’t have to hear me. My only concern is the button makes a loud sound now, I did have it for over a year though, but when I try to open it and click the button, it makes a loud sound Also, the wire is very short. I would like it to be a little bit longer but you know we can’t have everything nice I really enjoy the microwave though.

This microwave was light weight which was great when I had to take it from the box and put it on the shelf, but not so great when you push the button to open and entire microwave shifts. But the bigger issue is the beep/horrible sound when food is ready. If you don’t stop it before time ends it makes these ridiculous long horrible beeps over and over even after you open and close door several times and attempt to hit cancel. Until it is done you also can’t put something else in it because no buttons work. I have overheated things because I put too much time on so I have time to stop it before it ends.
It seems to cook fine. But honestly regretting that I didn’t return it and pick something else.
