I bought this product after my partner showed me a video review of this vacuum. We are young and do not make a lot of money. This product seemed worth it since it was very low cost for a seemingly amazing vacuum. I will say, the suction power is strong and gets the job done much better than other cheap vacuums. However, the clunkiness and cheap build of the product is what ruins it for me. It is made out of plastic bits that you could probably get for 56cents on AliExpress and they can be broken easily. I would suggest buying upgrades for it if you can afford it. Otherwise, the vacuum machine itself is strong and has a very long wire.
The worst part of it all is actually doing the vacuuming, holding up the giant vacuum box in one hand and battling the cheap hose extension with the other all while on the leash of the electrical cord makes for a struggle when cleaning.

Any vac has to meet some minimum requirements: it has to suck, be reasonably easy to use, and work well for the types of surfaces it’s intended to clean. This Eureka does all that. The suction power is as good as our old Hoover Windtunnel. The controls are laid out well on the vac and it’s simple to understand how to use it. The canister+wand design makes it very nice in using. You’re not pushing a lot of weight around, so it gets the job done with less effort and also faster than our old vac. Really nice for stairs.
Beyond that, here are the features I like. Our last vac had cord rewind and I don’t ever want to go back to manually wrapping up the cord. The power and bag open buttons are huge and easy to hit with a finger or a toe. It’s a bagged vac — after having a bagless, I prefer the ability to simply take all the dirt out in a package and not have to wash the bagless parts frequently.
I haven’t had a canister vac and wanted to see if they were better. For us, this one is pretty ideal. Leaving most of the weight stationary on the floor makes vacuuming much less effort. But the most amazing surprise is the noise — there isn’t any! We couldn’t hold a conversation over our old vac. With this one, one of us can vacuum while the other watches TV in the same room! I’m pretty sure I could vacuum in a bedroom while someone was sleeping, and not wake them up.
The only con for us is storage. The hose doesn’t have anywhere to be when not in use. (No onboard hose storage.) The wand has a bracket to hold it upright, but the hose kind of makes a big arc from the top of the wand down to the canister so it takes a wide spot to store it.
Overall we are very happy with our purchase. We’ve only had it for a few weeks so can’t comment on durability.

Despite the fact that it’s completely plastic making it feel cheap, it works well and is very light to handle. Making vacuuming easier for me. It’s also nice to have to clean my car. Like I said it works well

So far this is exactly what it claims to be! Itโs an affordable little vacuum that has amazing suction! I LOVE that itโs so light and doesnโt put any pressure on my wrists like so many of the chargeable stick vacuums. It works wonders on pet hair and hard floors as well as short pile rugs/mats. I donโt have any carpet in my home so I canโt give any insight there. I was very hesitant because I kept reading conflicting reviews but I did a lot of research and decided itโs cheap to begin with so what do I have to lose! My last vacuum was a tineco and I spent over $500 on it (ugh) and not even a year later Iโve had so many issues I can no longer use it. Youโre not always getting a high quality product the more money you spend. Also, I absolutely love that it uses bags instead of a dust bin that you have to empty. That means no dog hair or dust flying in my face during cleanup as all you have to do is remove the bag, throw it in the trash and put a new one in. Iโve been using the same bag every day for a few weeks now and havenโt had to change it yet so even though they look on the smaller side itโs been lasting quite a long time. Itโs super light, easy to vacuum stairs and nooks and crannies, the cord is nice and long and I have no problems with having to manually wrap it underneath (some people complain about silly things.) I can understand the concerns about the plastic/hose seeming a bit flimsy but itโs a very inexpensive vacuum so Iโm not sure what everyone was expecting. Also Iโve had no problems with the extentions coming undone while in use…I actually struggle to get them apart when I want to use the wand to get in a small space so no complaints there either! I love the little attachments that come along with it too, Iโm actually excited to clean my vehicles with this vacuum, lol, as I know itโs going to work awesome! I have nothing bad to say about it this far! Hopefully I wonโt have to update my post anytime soon (like I did the last vacuum I purchased from Amazon.) Donโt listen to the bad reviews, I wish I hadnโt because itโs been a great little vacuum that I really wish I had ordered sooner and saved myself so much money. Thatโs it, I think I covered it all! ๐

To be honest I really wasn’t expecting THAT high of a ceiling for this Eureka, at least given this vacuum’s $130ish price tag. After going through a slew of upright vacs and now swearing off the cursed Shark brand forever, as well as trundling through a couple of inexpensive and thoroughly fragile stick vacuums, both my wife and I FINALLY decided that we needed to go back to a cannister-style machine way-of-life. Both of us miss our old and sadly long-expired Electrolux cannister, but unfortunately that company has abandoned that style vac for its own series of uprights. Oh well…even the good ones can be dumb…it’s now on with the search.
I decided that we really didn’t need to spend several hundred dollars on a new vac, at least for now. Our old Electrolux was around $400 thirtysomething years ago, which translates to almost $970 in today’s money at the date of this review. Yowch; no I’m definitely NOT going there. Instead I decided to take a chance and buy cheap…er…inexpensive. I did a search for cannister-style vacs on Amazon and found a few very positively reviewed examples from Eureka. Intrigued, I did the proverbial deep dive into some of those units and came away with the feeling, “not bad” with regards to the brand. Besides, we’ve had a bit of prior experience with the brand through a chunky handheld corded vac that we bought several years back that has held up quite well over the years.
But instead of sticking with the one of their heavily reviewed cannister units, I saw this one with very few reviews (maybe one or two had posted at the time of its purchase by us, both VINE reviews) and decided, why not? In my mind the $130 price wasn’t expensive, certainly not compared to the money we spent and ultimately wasted on Shark uprights, and nowhere close to what we spent on our last cannister, the Electrolux, even ignoring the 33-year adjustment for inflation. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, not a heck of a lot actually. This NEN170 set up and worked like a honest-to-goodness vacuum right out of the box. It works just fine on our hardwood and solid laminate floors, does the area rugs justice and has enough reach to get to dust and cobwebs lingering up in the hinterlands of our home. It’s a plus that it’s HEPA-rated, has decent capacity for its compact size AND has a strong, easily retractable power cord mechanism that we’ve forever missed from our cannister vacs of yore. After a month of relatively steady use, we couldn’t have expected anything better, right?
Well, not exactly. There ARE a few things that we miss. This Eureka doesn’t come with a boatload of accessory attachments. It doesn’t have a powered agitator head with a headlight on the end of its hose/wand assembly. Things that some of our past, more SPENDY vacuums came standard with. Sometimes you just wind up spoiling yourself with stuff, and wish that you can continue the trend as time goes one. But then I remind myself of the price of admission for this Eureka…and all is golden once again.
As it turns out, several of the attachments from past vacs that I kept around in a plastic tub in the hall closet fit onto the NEN170’s wand and hose PERFECTLY; sometimes it does pay to be a bit of a hoarder, if you have the room to make that work. So fortunately the gripe about missing attachments is now a non-issue. YMMV however. The powered agitator…well, this Eureka didn’t cost us $970 or even $400, so keeping THAT in mind, it’s a loss that we can easily live with. The suction power of this vac is ample enough to deal with the amount of filth that we generate and so far do it with nary a protest, so how bad can it be, really?
Not bad AT ALL as it turns out. For the money, FIVE SOLID STARS all day long and into the night (though I’m really not into nightime vacuuming, per se). Anyways, Happy Vacuuming 2U! (geez, that sounds so disingenuous…)

This vacuum is light and simple if you just need something light weight to carry around. The vacuum power is good. However, the motor noise is bit loud I think but it gets the job done. I think the price is good for this size of vacuum. It came with some accessory tools as well.
