Clarks Men’s Tilden Cap Oxford Shoes

I replaced a cheaper shoe I wore to the office several times a week with these because they fell apart. The shoe is comfortable, the laces are thick and feel sturdy. The rubber soles are quiet on hard flooring and have a great secure grip. My only complaint is these are the first shoes I’ve ever worn where the height in the tie area is a little tight. I’ve never had that before. I have long, narrow feet, so my typical issue is that footwear may be too short or wide. These have a good narrow fit through the foot but the toes have little up-and-down wiggle room. It isn’t enough to make them uncomfortable though. I purchased a black and light brown pair. Both fit the same, although the brown pair squeak loudly when I tighten the laces and walk in them. I’m hoping they quiet down the more I wear them.

If they last, I will recommend them for the money.

I was surprised at how comfortable these shoes are for the price. They have a nicely padded interior, decent arch support, and plenty of width and room in the toe box. They do not look expensive and the styling is understated, but the stitching is well done and they look professional. Just a simple, well constructed shoe.

I wear dress shoes everyday and I’m on my feet a lot. My wife is the same way and would always praise Clarks, but I didn’t think much of it. I’d always get Nunn Bush or something like that, but they weren’t comfortable or last very long. I happened to be at a Clarks store that was closing one time and picked up a pair of these and boy did everything change that day. Not only are they comfortable they last a long time. I get about one pair a year. That doesn’t mean they only last a year, I just try to keep a nice looking pair. I can wear them all day and my feet don’t hurt. And you get all the comfort without the bulkiness of other comfort footwear companies. They fit nice and don’t pinch or rub anywhere. They are definitely worth the full price, but they go on sale regularly to an even better deal so keep an eye out.

I’ve bought a few pairs from this brand over the last 10 years in my office job. They’re nothing fancy, but look respectable with jeans or a suit.

I get about 2-years out of a pair before I wear through the rubber soles.

The laces these come with are cheap. I generally break a lace after just a few months.

I wanted to use the shoes for casual and dress both. The only problem was that they were the wrong size, I ordered a size nine and they were like 10 or 101/2. Otherwise they were a nice pair of shoes.
