My old winter cowboy hat was always a bit too tight, so I threw it out a couple of years ago. I had been wearing my summer hat past Labor Day (horrors!). I’m just now getting around to replacing the discarded one with this. And I like it. A lot. It’s soft, kinda frumpy. It’s crushable, so I don’t have to fret over it like I do my summer straw hat. Just this evening, I noticed my wife grinning at me as I was rolling the garbage can up the driveway. I asked what’s up, and she said she was admiring my hat. She said it looks good on me. Just that smile on her face was worth the hat.
The only gripe is that it has holes in the brim for a lanyard and is shown here with a lanyard, yet it doesn’t come with one. Now I just have two holes in my hat. I’d have preferred that it either came with the lanyard or didn’t have the holes.

I’ve had this hat for a little while now and thought I already wrote a review but here goes again. After opening the box and seeing it in the paper it was packed in I realized I got a good deal so far. The hat was a little pushed around in the box, not a dedicated hat box. This mattered not all, the hat pushed right into shape and is a perfect fit on my head. The olive color is great, I really like the dark green on this. I like everything about this hat. The crown is easy to grab and pinch, the sides have a nice curve popular in the aussie styles now. I am not a cowboy, don’t ride a horse, but this hat gets worn a lot now. Its a four season hat to me. Keeps the sun and rain out of my eyes and glasses. Michigan gets hot and muggy but this hat isn’t too thick for warmer weather. Its nice to get a perfect fit, well made hat in the mail. The band is thin but classy looking. If I had to only have one cowboy hat, this would be my choice and I have a few. Even after a little while, and a more pricey purchase here and there, a nice new leather hat band later and this is still my natural go to. The cloth sweat band is always comfortable. The form stays perfect as well.

Apart from the fact that, as expected, the sage hat is much darker in a shade of green, rather than the mushroomy earthy colour in the picture, the purchase was flawless. Shipped right away, excellent tracking, received quickly. Shipped in a proper hat box, wrapped, arrived in perfect condition and the medium fit my 22 1/2 in.,size 7 1/4 better than any other hat. Wore it right away with my dog in the yard at 1 degree C and it was perfect. Very happy, would not hesitate to shop at Rod’s Western Palace again, excellent.

This is a BEAUTIFUL hat, amazing quality. I am a size large according to the Stetson sizing chart on their website, however I decided to try a medium first in this hat based on a few reviews I read to size down. The hat I received had a removable outer tag marked Medium, however, the tag inside the hat said it was a large. I am fine that I ended up receiving a large because it ended up being a perfect fit. Just beware to double check that the sizing matches up with the hat you receive!!

Mine was shipped from a warehouse in America to Japan, the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the shipment time was a little bit unreasonable. The hat itself is of wonderful quality and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get their first stetson hat.

I bought the hat for a camping weekend in the dusty, hot mountains of SoCal. It arrived on time and in great shape. The fit was perfect and the hat was exactly as advertised. It is a perfect hat for outdoor trail hiking and camping. It keeps the sun off your head to keep you cool.
A friend (wearing a straw hat and was already overheated) asked if I was too hot wearing it; absolutely not! Wool is dense but breathable and the hat really held up to the heat and dust. The leather chin/neck straps are a bit stiff, but I appreciated having them on the hat when the wind picked up.
I only wish I would have kept the box the hat shipped in to have storage for it.
