Oral-B Pro 5000 Smartseries Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Used it for the first time today, and all jokes aside it is amazing. My previous Oral B 100-model lasted 12 years but started needing to be recharged every other day so I was looking for a new one. Looked at the same comparable Oral B toothbrushes and chose this for the price and comparison.

This is definitely an upgrade from my old Oral B 100!! Supercharged vibration, no issues with brushing my crown, at all. It feels crazy at first like your teeth will fall out but no painful just intense. I will get used to it and will look forward to the daily clean-feel feeling. No lie, it’s like I just got my teeth cleaned at the dentist. While brushing, pretty quickly the red light indicator came on that I was brushing too hard – red light is easily seen while toothbrush is in your mouth even without looking in the mirror (nice feature). My teeth feel like I just left the dentist office!! And no hefty bill! Lol.

Worth the price for what you get. Haven’t downloaded the app so I cannot comment on that.

LOVE the nice travel case it has which was a nice surprise as I didn’t see that in the pictures.

I won’t rehash what others have already said, this is a great toothbrush, you won’t be sorry buying it. What I will do is point out things that aren’t mentioned much, but that were important to me.

1) There’s little to no difference between this model and higher priced ones, even 2x the price – by ‘little’ difference, I mean the higher price gets you more features in the app and another ‘brushing mode’ or two, like pulsating or an additional ‘gentle mode’. By ‘no difference’, I mean inside-hardware and capability-wise, they’re actually all the same. Spend more if app features are important to you, save your money if they’re not.

2) This model has no indication which of the 5 brushing modes you’re on – Oral-B decided to charge an extra Benjamin for that feature on the next model up, I think it’s the Smart Pro Limited or Smart Pro 6000, which has a light-up display that lights up icons when you switch modes; that’s really all the higher price gets you. You can either count the modes yourself and save some money, or just holding the mode switch button automatically resets it to the first mode if you forget.

3) The bluetooth comes automatically on, but you can turn it off anytime by just holding both the power button and the mode switch button for 3 seconds. The bluetooth icon will flash, and then turn off. It’ll stay off forever, or until you repeat that action, then it’ll flash and stay on. Very simple, but good to know if you don’t care about the app and want to save battery

4) I looove that this brush doesn’t actually stop brushing when it hits the 30 second mark. I’ve always hated how my last brush, the discontinued 4000 Pro model, would just stop and beep – very annoying since I brush at my own pace. It was especially annoying when I was brushing the back of my tongue and the abrupt interruption always almost caused me to gag; this one just beeps and slows down for half a second – it’s actually hard to notice if you’re not looking for it – which is a huge plus for me. I can finally brush how I want and not forced to pause because I was out of sync with the timer

All in all, I’m very pleased with this model, really no regrets, and hope it lasts for years to come.

This is a whole new level of cleaning capability. Ever since Oral B hit the market there is no better cleaning tool but many people use it so much or incorrectly they add other problems. Time and pressure are important to monitor especially for those who use this multiple times a day. This new technology allows these side effects to be controlled. It is easy to use and the Bluetooth connect allows techies greater insights and fun! It is a bit expensive but lasts for years so a good purchase.

Lots of power I feel like my teeth are really clean when I get done!! Very happy with both of my toothbrush set!
