I have only had this for a day but I already love it. I have a similar Philis Multigroomer trimmer (7790/40 model), which comes with about 30,000 different blade guides and other accessories. I really like the multigroomer but I almost never use the kazilion blade guides, etc. When I was cutting my own hair (thank you, pandemic), I graduated to serious clippers (Andis, Babyliss) because the multigroomer wasn’t quite up to the task. I did use it occasionally as a beard and mustache trimmer, but the multitude of guards and having to swap them around all the time made it rather tedious. I’ve had half a dozen other trimmers of various brands, too, and have never been in love with any of them.
There’s the backstory. On to the good part. Enter the Philips OneBlade 360. “But wait, that’s not this trimmer!” you exclaim. I stumbled on that trimmer a couple of days ago and, well, why not? Figured I would give it a try. Really like it! But that’s a whole different review. It does not, however, come with a case, the search for which led me to THIS trimmer.
When I saw the 9810, I quickly realized it is basically the same trimmer as the multigroomer, without all the blade guides, etc., and the really slick dial-in trimming adjustment. Sold.
So why did I buy it when I had just bought the OneBlade 360?
They are really good at different things. The OneBlade 360 I bought, which is the face and body trimmer version, is great for edging, shaping, clean up, manscaping, etc., and a quick face clean up when I don’t want to wet shave. It’s super maneuverable, quick, and versatile. In short, I like it for quick cleanups and edging but not so much for an all-out trim.
The BT9810 is excellent for more serious trimming. I get the benefits of a trimmer with multiple blade guards without all the fiddling around. It is bulkier and less nimble than the OneBlade for clean-up and shaping but does a better job at the more involved or thicker cutting. You aren’t going to use this in other places either, like for manscaping. I got more consistent length when setting this to a 5mm cut and hitting my mustache and beard than with the OneBlade. The OneBlade gave me nicer edges. Probably because it is just more maneuverable and shaves more like a razor in some ways.
So, I wound up with two clippers I didn’t know I needed. I love them both. And if you are a fan of Philips multigroomers but don’t need or want 30,000,000 separate guides, this is for you.
Have someone on your holiday list that you want to spoil? Buy them this trimmer. Or buy them both. Or buy them for yourself.
All the other lackluster trimmers are going to the thrift shop now. I’ll keep the multigroomer for those oddball occasions when I want the versatility of multiple blade guards, the body groomer, and interchangeable blades.
If you read this far, you definitely deserve to buy yourself this trimmer.

Love this product. Best Shaver so far. Easy to use and the cut is amazing. However, I still believe it is way over priced. This product is from the USA. I had to buy a US to AU travel adaptor to be able to use in Australia. Overall, great product.

Feels good on the skin

Feels premium in hand, cuts evenly, shower proof (easy to clean and use if you realized you missed a hair- hey, nobody’s perfect). Haven’t had to oil it yet- and the included bottle will last years at this rate. No irritation on my face at all even if used at the minimum length. Hasn’t cut/nicked me at all, even when used on the ‘gentlemen’.

This is the best beard trimmer I’ve ever owned. This is my second one in 12 years. The style has changed a little, But the quality has only gotten better. My old trimmer was made of plastic. This one, is made of metal ๐

After many attempts to buy clippers that handle beards. Finally went to a name brand that is specific to beard trimming. Easy to understand and operate. Does an ace job and is well constructed

Okay, messed around w/ cheapo trimmers w/ the 900 cheap plastic attachments and finally had enough, so spent hours reviewing products and reviews online, and then anteed up and bought this Norelco – and am glad I did. It actually works w/o chewing up my face and snagging my beard and ‘stache. Only complaint is the cylindrical shape – it’s like holding one of those skinny drink cans. Definitely not ergonomic and would greatly benefit from a better design that fits the hand.

Splurged on this during amazon prime day deals and wow this thing is amazing. 0 pulling on beard hair with nice quick trimming. Cleanup is super easy as you just pop the head upwards and rinse off. I use a little rechargeable air blower to dry it and then oil the blades. It’s vastly superior than the 30 dollar Wahl trimmers I’ve been using for years.

I’ve needed a good trimmer to keep my beard under control. The one I had was not cutting it. Took too much time and ran out of juice quickly. Put up with it for 2 years then got this. Night and day. My beard was at around 3 inches and this trimmer took it down in one swipe. Like shearing a sheep. I was even able to use it around the lips and nose without any pinching or nicking, which is my favorite feature. Next favorite is its simplicity, several length adjustments and just one accessory. I think that the design lends itself for better performance after you get used to it. A great product, worth the money, and I do recommend.

I got this to replace my 20 year old Philips Norelco beard trimmer that has trouble holding a charge now and is losing small internal pieces like the spring for the cutter hair chute plate. I went for this new model even though it is pretty pricey because I felt like I deserved a good one after having a beard for the last 54 years. I held it as instructed by the rubberized band at the shaver head and set the length to 5mm. After a once-over, I adjusted it to 4mm. Much better. I had a good trim at this setting now that I keep my beard short. I was able to precisely fine-trim the edge of my mustache at my lip by setting it to 0.5mm, the lowest setting. It takes a little practice to get the trim you want but it works. Note: Unlike other posters, the one I received was brand new, not “opened box”. It arrived very promptly after ordering in perfect new condition with all it parts in its commercial packaging. It charged from empty to full in a little over an hour which is impressive. Sharp blade cutters. Get one of these if it’s in the budget.

For years โ okay, decades, if Iโm honest โ Iโve used Norelcoโs vacuum-equipped shavers. Most recently (ten years ago) I decided to save a little and get the mid-grade model. It arrived with a non-functional battery, but I lived with it. It worked fine. Does the job.
This Fatherโs Day, though, I decided to treat myself, and ordered this model with overnight delivery. And let me tell you, this is a step up. This is like going from a Honda to a Porsche. Everything about this feels professional. Itโs solid without being too heavy, the motor is strong without being loud, and the cutters feel like they were made to last a lifetime of salon use.
With my previous model, I found myself shaving less often than I probably should. So far, with this one, I find myself urging my beard to grow so that I can use this once more. Sharp, comfortable, and with an incredible adjustable comb.
Absolutely lovely. If thereโs better than this, I canโt imagine how.
