They provide instant pain relief and are comfortable to wear. They are a great size, stay on well, and easy to get in and out of the containers. I would buy these over other smothers I have used as they worked much faster and were a better value in my opinion.

Was so good to relieve the pain of the first few days of breastfeeding (my son had a tongue tie which made the first 2 weeks painful!) thanks to the gel pads it helped a lot to keep going, great buy and would definitely recommend to friends and family

These were my best friends during the first two weeks of hell of breastfeeding. Instant relief from pain.

If you don’t want to spend the money on Silverettes, these are the next best thing!

With my first baby, my nipples were cracked and scabbed. They were so painful.

Everytime I put on one of these pads, it was instant relief and it didn’t hurt to peel them off.

They have some sort of sticky material on them making them stay in place.

The only downside is that they only last a few days. So in my opinion, they were not worth the money. Especially when I needed them for about a month for relief.

That’s why I opted for the Silverettes with my second baby.

Los amo! Para mi gusto son mejores que los de medela!

I tried both the Lansinoh and the Medela gel pads to compare the two. Lansinoh had the edge on quality, but they are more expensive. Both were around $10 per pack, but the Medela packs had four gel pads instead of just two. Amazon’s price is a few dollars cheaper if you can buy them as an add-on product.

These gel pads cool on contact and then gradually warm with your skin temperature. They feel extremely soothing right after a painful nursing session. And you can put them in the fridge-even better. I don’t leak very much, so I was able to wear mine all day for several days. I did apply some lanolin cream before the gel pad, so maybe that helped keep moisture at bay…I’m not sure. If you do have issues with leaking a lot, maybe just wear them for a little while right after nursing until the cooling sensation wears off and the pain has subsided. Then they can be stored in a ziplock bag until the next feeding. As soon as you remove them from your body and let them air out, the gel cools off so that when you reapply them, the cooling sensation is back.

How were these superior to Medela’s gel pads? The shape more naturally molds to the breast and stays put. The fabric backing makes these gel pads sturdier, and they come with a little plastic disc that you can use to store them on between feedings or to set them on during a feeding.

The cooling sensation was similar between the two brands. The price winner is Medela. BUT it is possible that the Lansinoh pads may last longer for some people because they are sturdier, so the price difference may even out, especially if you get them cheaper through Amazon’s add-on program.

I know these are a little expensive but compared to other gel pads, they are more reasonably priced. And these have saved my breastfeeding experience, in combination with lanolin cream!!

please don’t waste your money on this. the pads soothe the sore nipples till they are cold but the body heat makes them warm so quick, you have to take them off. totally useless.

a friend recommend getting them even before baby was here as they are handy and she was right- as baby learns to latch, they offer great relief on blishers/sore nipples. Downside is that they only last 72hrs once opened and they are very expensive, but much better than a cool flannel.

As a first time mom I didn’t know what to expect with breastfeeding and phew that second day was rough. Until my nurse brought me these! Really does help soothe and heal painful nipples while they adjust. A lifesaver and essential for sure! Way more effective than nipple butter.

It worked for a maximum of 10 times. The adhesive is not long lasting at all. The product does not seem to have a cooling effect unless you put it in the fridge and even then the effect lasts for just a few seconds before it feels like having nothing on. Didn’t like it one bit.
In place I bought the silverette which changed the game when it came to healing post every feed.

The beginning phase of breastfeeding can be difficult and painful. These helped so much with a cooling/healing sense of relief. I used them for my third pregnancy and wished I had them for my first two.
