Directions

A naturally preserved product needs special attention to maintain maximum freshness. After opening bag, remove air from package and reseal tightly. Use food within 30 – 45 days. Store in a cool, dry location. Refrigerate or freeze for extended storage.. When introducing a new food to your Parrot, start slowly and give your bird time to adjust. Begin with a mix of Kaytee® Forti-Diet Pro Health® Plus Safflower Parrot Food and your bird's old food, gradually increasing the new food (and reducing the old food) over 7 to 10 days. This will help minimize dietary upset and allow your pet to adjust as the switch is made. Use the feeding amounts on the package as a guide. You may need to adjust the portions if you have multiple birds or need to help your Parrot maintain a weight recommended by your veterinarian. Fresh water should be available at all times, and uneaten food should be discarded and the food bowl cleaned between feedings to ensure the freshest, most delicious food and the healthiest Parrot.

    This parrot food is healthier, I believe, than high -fat seed mix that contains sun flower seeds. I remove the peanuts. I throw in some sun flower seeds and dried fruit to balance it out. Unfortunately, each of the 2 bags I ordered were delivered with a small hole. Some seed escaped. Not much.
