Contains one (1) API AQUA ESSENTIAL Water Conditioner 8 ounce bottle; treats up to 2,370 U.S. Gallons
WORKS INSTANTLY: Highly concentrated aquarium treatment works instantly to remove harmful chemicals, making tap water safe for fish in freshwater, saltwater and planted aquariums; Reduces the risk of fish loss when starting or maintaining a fish tank
DECHLORINATOR: Removes chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals which are found in tap water and can cause gill and tissue damage, breathing difficulty, stress and fish death
AMMONIA REMOVER: Removes the toxic ammonia continually released by fish through their gills, urine and solid waste. Uneaten food and decaying organic matter also add ammonia. Small amounts of ammonia stress fish; large amounts of ammonia will kill fish
NITRITES AND NITRATES REMOVER: Produced by fish waste and uneaten fish food, nitrites inhibit respiration and suppress the immune system at low levels, while high levels cause suffocation; Nitrates can be harmful to fish and lead to algae growth

I have 2 smaller fish tanks (5 gal and 20 gal) and have always bought the treatment for new tanks as I thought that’s what u use each time and would need a cupful each time. With this one however u need 1 ml for 20 US gallon. Only 1!! This bottle will seriously last for at least a yr with weekly water changes and the price is unbeatable. It’s a win win all around for this. Works great (you can actually watch the water clear up once u add the treatment in a bucket).

This stuff is great for binding ammonia and nitrites. I started using it after a bacteria crash and I now use it as my regular water conditioner for almost all my tanks. In my experience, it did not actually remove any nitrites or nitrates, but it certainly keeps the fish more comfortable in a crisis. I also only use a slight amount more than the regular dosage to detoxify (necessary because our water is highly chlorinated here) and do not use the higher dose as instructed on the second part of the directions label because when I did, my fish appeared very stressed out and lost some color (though I should note that I did not lose any fish, a water change and a lower dose did the job just fine after). I’m still giving this a 5 star review however, as it was a life saver for a tank crash and seems to be comparable to the higher priced products that are meant to bind toxins and keep your fish safe. I don’t think there are any products that can truly remove the nitrites and nitrates, and no matter what if your levels aren’t going down you can’t avoid the extra water changes. But we keep this stuff on hand at all times now.
