I use this backpack to exercise in the mornings. I put 40 lbs of water in it and go hike up a trail… It has held up great. If you have a kid in scouting, are a less than 1 time a year backpacker, or are using it in a situation where extra ounces aren’t going to bother you, this backpack is right there. It definitely isn’t my KUIU pack or a Stone Glacier, but it isn’t trying to be.

Seems as described, quality seems fine, I got thr out of box $28 over the $39 and ill say def worth $28 price. I wouldn’t go $39 bc other brands here that seem comparable for $22-27, I got this one bc shoe pocket plus outter straps for tent and sleeping mat, which saves space. Seems comfy, but like others said it does sit high on the body if your taller. I’m 6’2 it was very high on my shoulders even set wide open, I’m 255LBS and waist clip barely closes amd was hard to adjust, with a large load I don’t think I could snap waist or chest closed. Many the zippers also seem stiff and not smooth, I imagine wax or lubricant would help it be ok. Its really 3,5 star for someone my sz but I can only do 4 here. Buyer beware, it has some issues but overall good bamg for buck, many here said “no rain cover”, mine had.

I just finished an overnight hike in Yosemite National Park (only 900 feet of gain). This backpack is excellent for the price point. I’m 6’2” 195 lbs (21” torso) and it fits fine, adjusts easily for the trail, is comfortable. It’s well made, has good zippers and straps. The buckles held up well under stress. If you can’t find the included rain fly, look carefully at the very outside bottom for a hidden zipper compartment. I highly recommend it as a beginner pack. My biggest recommendations are go as lightweight as possible on the gear! This is critical for your enjoyment on the trail. Buy the light weight tent, light weight sleeping bag or sleeping quilt coupled with an excellent sleeping pad (critical). Don’t take extras, just the absolute essentials. You don’t need a bear canister (saves weight ) if you hike to a back country campsite that has bear lockers. Watching online videos on lightweight backpacking gear helps. I’m doing another hike Tuesday with 2400 feet elevation gain, difficulty terrain and the weight is critical. I hate to leave my fancy hiking chair behind, but it’ll have to go. All the little items add up to a heavy pack. Go light and have fun out there. It’s hard to believe they can even make a pack this nice for this price. Amazing!
