Amazon Echo Frames 3rd Gen Smart Glasses Description
In the ever-evolving world of smart technology, Amazon continues to lead the way with its innovative Echo Frames (3rd Gen). These smart glasses are designed to seamlessly integrate the convenience of Alexa with the practicality of everyday eyewear. In this article, we delve into the features and benefits of the Amazon Echo Frames 3rd Gen Smart Glasses.
Access Your Favorite Music and Content
With the Echo Frames, you can hit the streets and ask Alexa to play music, podcasts, or Audible books from some of your favorite streaming apps. This hands-free experience allows you to stay entertained and informed without needing to pull out your phone.
Hands-Free Communications
Stay connected with open-ear audio calling, ensuring you never have to dig through your bag for your phone. With the Top Contact feature, you can call your top VIP with a single press and hold of a button, making it easier and quicker to stay in touch.
Next Generation Open-Ear Audio
The Echo Frames speakers direct sound to your ears without covering them, minimizing the amount of sound others around you can hear. With Auto Volume enabled, the frames automatically adjust the volume based on the noise level of your environment for an optimal listening experience.
Control Your Smart Home from Anywhere
Do more with Alexa on your frames. Check if you locked the front door, turn on/off lights, set your thermostat, and more, all while you’re away from home. The Echo Frames make managing your smart home devices a breeze, no matter where you are.
Fashion Meets Function
The Echo Frames are available in new classic and fashion-forward styles made from handcrafted Mazzucchelli Italian acetate, German-engineered spring hinges, and premium metal tone finishes. These materials not only elevate your style but also ensure durability and comfort.
Blue Light Filtering Lenses
The Echo Frames come with blue light filtering lenses that have an anti-reflective coating. These lenses filter out the blue light emitted by digital screens, improving visual comfort and clarity by reducing glare. They are lightweight and comfortable, designed for long hours and late nights.
Designed to Protect Your Privacy
Amazon prioritizes your privacy. The microphones are designed to respond only to the voice of the person wearing the frames and can be muted with a double-press of a button. Amazon is not in the business of selling your personal information to others.
More Battery to Take Charge of Your Day
The Echo Frames offer up to 6 hours of continuous media playback or up to 14 hours of moderate usage. Moderate usage includes 2 hours and 30 minutes of media playback, 1 hour of talk time, 20 Alexa interactions, and 90 incoming notifications throughout the day. The frames fully charge in approximately 2.5 hours.
Designed for Sustainability
The charging stand for the Echo Frames is made from 35% recycled materials, and 95% of the device packaging is made of wood fiber-based materials from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources. Amazon’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the design and packaging of the Echo Frames.

Listen run don’t walk, these glasses are everything you read. I have had them for a couple of days, and people have asked about them, I had a man wanted to buy them right off my face. The quality is amazing and they are so easy to operate. The fit is comfortable and the price is every bit worth the product. Came with the stand and charge. You don’t have to do anything extra. I have a appointment to put my prescription in them in a few days. They come in different styles Chem them our. The voice, music and the privacy is very true. They all work according to the advertisement. I’m happy about my choice. Run don’t walk to get you a pair.

I bought a pair for my husband for Father’s Day! They are awesome! Easy to use, fashionable, but comfortable, and so convenient (hands free ๐๐๐!!!)

These frames are so stylish and high quality! I love that they are blue light blocking as I stare at a computer screen all day long. I was shocked by how good the audio quality is. I am a nurse and these smart glasses help me set reminders, take notes and make phone calls while I am working! My trick is to mute them to save the battery and they last my entire shift. Thank you for making a product that increases my productivity! I haven’t had any issues with charging them. The video on the website made learning how to use this product very simple. I feel like I got the hang of them quickly. Highly recommend !

I’ve had the 2nd gen for a few years and they still work great. I use them every day at work. I’ve wanted the 3rd Gen to come out for a while bc I never liked the style of the 2nd gen. The updated style options of gen 3 are great! I got the black square ones and used them all day today at work. The style is better (everyone said so), they fit better, feel better, and sound better.
The music shortcut (press back action button twice) works great and being able to connect to 2 devices at the same time (phone and computer) is a game changer.
Great product, very pleased so far

I liked Generation One and thought Generation Two was a thoughtful improvement, but now you unload this step backward and have the audacity to label these glasses Generation Three.
To be fair, the sound is much better, but every one of the “Improvements” is so bad, that I wonder if the showrunners for”The Rings of Power” were put in charge.
Then, to top it all, where in the Hell did the idea for the practically useless charger come from?
I didn’t want to return my Third Generation Frames, but Amazon has made it impossible to keep them.

I really wanted to like these, but they aren’t what I would consider an upgrade.
Multipoint Bluetooth is great, makes life easier if you use the frames with multiple devices and it works exactly like it should – your phone is the primary device it always connects to and it switches between the secondary devices while still announcing notifications and accepting Alexa commands.
The new charging cradle is much easier to throw your frames on and to find in the middle of the night, but it’s still far from perfect and takes some effort to get them in the sweet spot so they charge.
An extra 2 hours of battery life is welcome, but I didn’t test those claims.
Unfortunately that’s where the improvements end.
This is controversial but I think the speakers sound worse than the previous gen. They sound more tinny and hollow, and I tried two different pairs of 3rd gens.
They replaced the touchpad with two buttons and you can only assign two custom functions to them. Before you basically had 3 with the touchpad, and it was more intuitive.
They removed auto volume, which is very strange.
Lenses from the previous frames will not fit in any of these styles. It would have been nice for them to at least have one style that matched the previous gen so we don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on new prescription lenses.
None of the previous charging cables work with the new frames and Amazon doesn’t currently sell extra charging docks. Packing a whole charging dock for traveling with takes up a lot more space than a simple cable, would have been nice to have a USB port of some kind for charging on the go.
I decided instead to return these and pick up another pair of 2nd gen frames for cheap – I don’t find the 3rd gen upgrade compelling enough.

I have owned all 3 generations of the Echo Frames. I have enjoyed the convince of them very much. The first 2 Generations had great features, and ease of use. I was excited to see what they would do with the 3rd installment. Unfortunately, Gen 3 is a huge disappointment. The only good thing about them is the battery and sound are better, the other handy features that made Generation 1 and 2 a cinch to use have been removed for some dumb reason.
The new charger is a joke, the glasses have to be put on the charger in a very precise way and balance just right, or they do not charge.
You can no longer silence notifications.
The Gen 3 will auto take over you calls, for instance, if you want to use your phone to make a call, as soon as the person on the other end picks up, the call will auto switch to the Echo Frames, and there is no options to shut this off.
The volume control only works if the Echo Frames are playing sound.
It almost seems like Amazon wanted to make these as inconvenient as possible to use. Honestly, it’s better to just connect them to your phone as just headphones and not bother with the Echo features.
