- A safety device cuts off the power supply if there is too little or no water in the kettle. The base of the kettle is thermally insulated, so it can be placed safely on any worktop. Inside the spout, a filter retains any limestone particles formed inside the kettle. The handle is designed for comfortable, firm grip.

I really like this kettle. It boils six cups of water when filled to the “MAX” line and it does so quickly! My last kettle only did 4 so this is a nice step up. The quality is excellent. I love the cordless feature. The pointy spout allows you to direct the stream exactly where you want it while easily controlling the flow (as for pour over coffee). And it doesn’t hurt that it looks great! One other reviewer pointed out that the pre-use instructions should be followed. I’m glad I’d read that review or I may not have bothered. It’s a pre use cleaning and is important.

A beautiful design but it leaks boiling water out the bottom when I pick it up to pour—no matter how much or little water I heat. So I will return it. Not sure if I just got a lemon or they all have this problem??

This model actually DOES exist in a 110V version! It arrived yesterday; I followed the prep instructions, and it’s important to do so. I initially thought that being 110V it would take longer than 220V to heat water to boiling, but it’s equal. I first saw this in Harrods London; I contacted Alessi and their reply was that it isn’t available in a 110V US version! Not true! The seller answered my question about voltage; I placed the order and it arrived in record time.

It definitely feels cheap for the price, but aesthetically it’s stunning. I also have been using it everyday for a few weeks now and it’s working great and it’s easy to use— I’ve had no issues. I don’t regret the purchase.

Water is boiling inside of a plastic body, there is no stainless steel inside. For $100 a kettle I expect it to be made out of ceramic. Design is fantastic except a clear plastic on/off button which looks like an after thought.
