My wife, a technophobe, still uses a manual hole puncher and these fasteners to hold various papers together.
If you’re not “overly digital” these are ideal.

Purchased for a child to use in making a craft for a high-school project. We searched around town at big-box, craft, and office-supply stores for something like this, and couldn’t find anything anywhere. These will be used as “joints” in cardboard puppets made for a theatre class, and they were exactly what we needed. It would’ve been nice to find a silver-colored option, but the brass will work fine for our purposes.

These do what they are supposed to do and hold up pretty well. My one note is that the listing photo showed a more pewter color and I received brass. I had these in mind for something where the color aesthetic sort of mattered, so while it wasn’t life or death, it was mildly annoying. Now I just use them for other things such as making spinners for homemade board games or homeschool practice games.
