acer Aspire TC-895-UA92 Desktop, 10th Gen Intel Core i5

Price was ok for this, a bit more than same models with the 1tb hard but you get the sad instead. I had extra drives so I popped in an extra 1tb and a mini GTX 1050 2gb. It has all the Modern connections and good performance, it is a small box and although it shows room for a 2nd traditional hard drive, I found it way to tight to try and put a 2nd 3.5″ drive so I just used the 512gb side, and 1 spare 1TB had. You might be able to get the 2nd had in there is it is a 2.5″, but if you have a GPU upgrade that is a larger model you likely won’t be able to fit both, it will be one or the other unless the GPU is a mini model. I would like 32gb of memory instead of the odd 12gb pairing, but compared to other computers of the same configuration, the cost was very good and upgrading later is a suitable option. The only thing I question is the listing said VR Ready which I do not believe the onboard Intel video is capable of meeting the minimum requirements of since you need at least a dedicated GPU minimum of a GTX 1660 which you have to buy separately. The inclusion of the mouse and keyboard are nice starters but they are very cheap quality. Another thing was the case did not have thumb screws so you have to use a screw driver. The build quality of acer is not as good as some others like Dell, but it is light weight and the price is very good. Acer other models with GPU and gaming case but same specs are easily twice the amount for the same configuration. So it’s well worth it.

I’ve had this pc for about 2 in a half weeks now and I have to say, I’m very impressed the cpu is very responsive and quick and since I don’t have access to ethernet, the wireless lan is a big plus even though ethernet is more responsive.

I use this pc for browsing, streaming, and productivity and I gotta say, its pretty good.

With the additional 12 gb ram, I’m able to open more tabs which is nice. I havent had any issues with the product so I am unable to tell you about that.

Overall, pretty good product. Okay for light gaming. But if you plan on just using this for office work while browsing the internet while using it for streaming its pretty good.

CONS:
– Since the power supply type is weird and rare it will be hard to replace. It sits at 300 or watts or so which limits choices for a GPU if u do intend on adding one later on
– price is a bit inflated (was $499 when i bought it)
– 1 ssd card slot
– limited space inside the case
– can be slightly loud in a quiet room (at least with my GPU)

PROS:
-perfect for streaming, watching videos, and office work as intended
– good for running DAWs like FL studio with several vsts active
– can run most modern games at 60fps on medium settings with at most maybe a GTX 1050, 1060 or somewhere in that range otherwise you may get away with some really old games like halo 2 with it’s built-in intel UHD graphics card

-Lots of USB ports

Basically if you want a clean powerful office desktop you will love it. Having thoughts of gaming with it sometime later? Perfectly fine, though it’s not intended. just know you won’t have the highest settings on big games and there are better options out there if you want it specifically for gaming.

I’m a radio guy and a musician, and I recently upgraded to this PC for work in my home studio. I did trick it out a bit by swapping one of the RAM modules to a larger Crucial stick which boosted the RAM to a total of 24GB, installing a 4TB Western Digital enterprise grade 7200 rpm hard drive, and a BeQuiet! 92mm fan. All of the installed components installed without a hitch, and it’s now a very zippy PC.

I don’t know about gaming or editing video because I haven’t used it for that, but if you’re wondering if this PC would work well for audio recording, it certainly does. I have at least a couple of hundred VST instruments including Native Instruments Kontakt, Spitfire Labs and the resource-hungry Vital synthesizer, and layering multiple VSTs per track in Reaper, it takes everything I’ve thrown at it without bogging down. And that’s recording 40 tracks with VST synths on roughly half of those and audio on the other half, plus effect plugins. Adobe Audition and Ableton Live 10 both work seamlessly on this machine too. (Incidentally, I’m using an ASIO4All enabled Behringer USB audio interface with this unit in case you’re wondering if it’s compatible.)

Windows 10 boot up is ridiculously quick thanks to the SSD, taking about 6 seconds. To conserve on the SSD, I only have Windows 10 on the SSD with all of the software and other files on the 4TB hard drive. The 300w proprietary power supply has been adequate to power the PC and installed components, and I don’t plan on adding anything else. I would also recommend installing a good 7200 rpm hard drive to save on the SSD, and the BeQuiet 92mm fan to the rear vents on the case. I compared the CPU temps before and after the fan install with the free Core Temp app, and the fan shaves about 8-10 degrees off the CPUs operating temperature under load, and that’s a good thing.

Of course, it’s also rocket-fast for Photoshop, web browsing and everything else I’ve tried with it.

I have around $650 in it with the upgrades, and it’s the best $650 I’ve spent on a computer. If you’re looking to upgrade to a faster PC, you’d be hard pressed to find a better one for the money. I’m planning on picking up another one just like it to replace the other PC in my studio, in fact.

I love the speed and processing of this desktop, my only complaint is it’s fan is loud if you plan to multitask or game. Other than that, few upgrades and it’ll be awesome. I did expand the memory and note that it has a 4GB and 8 GB RAM chip in the two available slots so if you plan to just through another chip ontop of the already included RAM, be ready to be disappointed as there are no extra slots to add additional RAM aside from the two in use.
