What you should know:
– The rings are as thick/quality as any I’ve used/handled.
– The strap and sewing is as quality as anything I’ve use/handled….and is 3 inches wide.
Bottom Line:
When it comes to fall protection, there is really only one question that matters…would I trust this piece of gear to stop me from falling to my demise? …according the ANSI 5 foot fall scenarios…I’m 6’1” 270 lbs. …I would.

This works perfectly between the handles of my generator to hoist it into my truck.

I am deathly afraid of heights yet I have aerial work to do on my property and I am cheap. So I must do it myself. Or try to convince my wife to climb a tree to cut out limbs. HAHAHAHAHA
So I have most of the basic tree/ladder climbing safety gear but this is just extra insurance. If nothing else, strapped to a tree and through the handle of the chain saw would allow me to to just let it fall free of me. That’s my second biggest fear of tree work. It’s one thing to climb up there, and get the saw going but if you open up a hornets nest, or lose your footing, you darn sure don’t want to worry about carefully stopping the saw and lowering it slowly. I’m not saying this strap frees you of being responsible, but sometimes, stuff happens and you need to act quickly.
It’s also a great size and durable enough to act as a tree climbing belt if you have tree climbing spikes (I do).
The fact that this is a pass through ring setup makes it soooo easy to use and to get undone, especially with just one hand. That’s key at 30′ up if you are using your other hand to hold onto something. With two of these straps you could almost operate hands free except for the climb. Leaving both hands free to work. That is to say, as long as you have a very safe object to stand on, be it a ladder, or a tree limb.
