Planning to get my firebox and chimney repaired for a wood stove insert, but that’s 1,000s of dollars and lower on the priorotiy list than other home projects. Until then, I like to have a supplemental heater that I switch on intermittently to take the bite off (upstate NY!), and thought I’d give this a shot.
This puts out a good amount of heat, and is considerably less cheesy than I thought it would be lol. Its great to have a remote to switch the heat off and just have the fire effect; in fact, I feel like even when only the flames and embers are on (not heat) my brain gets tricked into thinking its warmer in the room. Very cozy!
Only drawbacks are:
1. The fan for the heater is quite loud, but that’s to be expected. But, SOMETIMES when the heater is off, you can hear whatever the mechanism is inside that spins to create the light effecton each rotation (clicks). If you have music or TV on it can be drowned out (but sometimes I just want to quietly read a book!) But then sometimes it doesn’t make the clicking noise! Right now I’m sitting here with flames and no fire on and its silent; last night it was driving me nuts.
2. The red display for the modes is smack in the middle, which screams THIS IS NOT A REAL FIRE! Not that it would trick anyone, but you could suspend reality a little easier if that wasn’t there. That said, I’m not sure where else it could be, as you need to see it to know what mode its on, and at least its red, not blue or green.
If you’ve ever been on an older ride at Disney World, its honestly quite similar to the fire effects they use in those!
I’d highly recommend. For the price, I’m enjoying the warmth and ambiance I can put off my expensive chimney repairs another season 2

This is an excellent product. We had an electric fireplace insert for several years before we bought this one and it was OK but this one is so far superior it’s unbelievable. The flames and embers look great and the heater warms the room. We are very happy with this!

It’s very realistic and can heat too
You can turn the light separately from the heat which is perfect , basically you can have the fire place on in summer too
And for the money it’s really worth it

The fireplace insert works really well. Sometimes we use the heater, which is fantastic, and sometimes we just use it for the ambient light. The only issue we’ve had is that the remote doesn’t work at all. We’ve tried changing the batteries and it still doesn’t work. But we can use the insert without it.

I got to say this little thing is very cool, the flames they are as close as you’re going to get too real. They do sit an aviance in the room. However the dinner I was having with my wife was on Friday night, this thing was supposed to been here Thursday so I ordered ahead of time. It didn’t get here till Saturday, so the makers of this need to do their self a favor and be sure if they say it’s going to be delivered it needs to be delivered. Great bang for the buck though.
