I switched internet providers, so I needed a different modem that works with the new provider. I reviewed the different options and the Netgear was highly rated. It fits well on my desk, was easy to install, and is faster than the last modem.

So I have Xfinity as my ISP and randomly one day the X1 provided modem/router combo gave out and stopped working. I went and found this on Amazon, since the reviews were good I bought it. Instead of explaining my entire (long and painful) experience, I’ll just tell you what this thing DOESN’T give you
– steady and reliable connection the the Nighthawk app (used to control the router/modem)
– smooth and easy to understand UI
– genuine download speeds that reach anything over 100 Mbps down when over Wi-Fi
I decided to reach out to Xfinity on this and was told that this router actually can’t support Xfinity’s connection speed and I’ll have to buy the newer version of it. I tried Netgear support but unless you bought a warrantee they won’t help. I’ve tried time and time again to mess with settings but the interface in the Nighthawk app is bare bones and you can’t even see network traffic or anything beyond your wifi password and security type + a few other small details. STAY AWAY FROM THIS.

Upgraded my old wireless router and am amazed at how much speed this one has. It took me a few attempts to activate, even with QR code but a great value and totally worth it. No lag with streaming on multiple television, gaming, computers and cell phones at the same time.

I had my cable guy install this, only because the person moving out was a cable guy and there was some high tech stuff I couldn’t do. It took the professional minutes I watched it was easy and it hooked up to my devices well, I did have to reset / factory all my devices and sign into the new network – thank God for YouTube!

Can’t lie, the price of this modem router combo is what appealed to me. And when I confirmed that it’s compatible with my plan, I knew I had to get it! It’s only been a few weeks, but so far zero issues with connectivity (hopefully I don’t jinx it). Setting it up was a breeze (or so it seemed when I was watching my husband do it haha). Will update my review if there are any issues in the next month or so!

I have Cox and the modem in my apartment kept dropping the connection. It was EXTREMELY frustrating. My sister is pretty tech savvy, so she suggested a new router/modem, and I bought this one. I’m so happy with it. It completely solved the problem. It was also really easy for my ISP to set up.

Bought this in an emegergency and it arrived swiftly and safely. The router-modem itself is like new! Setup was a breeze, and it works like a charm! No hiccups! It connected to the nighthawk app just fine, and my spectrum app had no issues detecting it either. Its everything I couldve hoped for, an operating device with simple self-setup.

Only time will tell if it holds up.
My last Amazon refurbished router/modem lasted 6 years and was still going when I unplugged it today. Only replaced it b/c Cox has been on me to do so and it maybe was beginning to become too slow…sometimes.
Anyway, so far so good.
Highly recommend.
