UPDATE:
I received the “Your dock fan has failed” BIOS error while using this dock with a Dell Latitude 7420. Apparently this is a common problem with this docking station that I was not aware of so I will he returning it. Updating my rating to reflect this.
Original post:
This refurbhised Dell WD19TBS Thunderbolt docking station works well, I’ve used it both at home and at the office in 3 monitor setups (2 QHD + 1 FHD at home, 1 UWQHD + 2 FHD at the office). However, the appearance of the dock is far from “excellent” refurbished condition. A deep scratch on top plus some damage to the edges shows it wasn’t taken well care of in that aspect. One star lost for the bad aesthestics, but otherwise it has so far met my needs at a good price.

It’s a nice idea, but could not get any of the dual monitor configurations working except one way. Single cable and monitor out seemed to work. My new Dell monitor’s official HDMI cable would not get detected in dual monitor setup. Dell official DP cable plus an old expensive Phillips HDMi cable from 15 years ago worked. That’s not good enough. Thunderbolt usbc out alone would not display to screen either. None of the newer cables I’ve bought off Amazon past 4 years got detected. Fan noise was lower than expected for refurbished. Also this is semi useless for 1440p monitors because it downgrades to 60hz most times with the second 1080p monitor attached. There should be enough bandwidth to do 100hz +60hz unevenly, not cap at 60hz each.

Thunderbolt port was broken. Requested replacement and waited five days. Then they said there are inventory issues and won’t be replacing it. So now I have an errand and have to purchase again from somewhere else.

Item did not even turn on. We had to return it and order a new one from another company.

This is one of the very few Dell docks that is certified by Apple to work with their products. But they are horribly overpriced when purchased new. Mine came in very good condition and works perfectly – it’s the only dock I’ve found that will not only work properly with a Dell (most newer Dell laptops can only be used in clamshell mode with a Dell dock – unless you completely disable sleep) but also with my MacBook Pro and iPad.

Fonctionne comme un neuf

Worked immediately on a 2015 MacBook Pro. RealTek Ethernet is full-speed, and passthrough Thunderbolt works great.

I bought this dock as it specifically says that it has 130Watt Power Delivery which is what is required by a Dell XPS 15. If the dell receives any lower wattage it complains about a weak charging state and does not operate at full capacity.
This dock is able to output 130Watts PD but the seller included the wrong power block for the hub. They included a 130W Power Block input to the Hub (A replacement as it was the “Corssery” Brand not dell) meaning the hub itself could only deliver 90W PD to the laptop. After looking at the product specifications to be able to output 130W to the laptop the hub itself needs a 180W power block. I contacted the seller several times through the Amazon contact service to highlight the problem and ask it be resolved but got no response. Terrible customer service.
I bought a new 180W power block myself and the unit now works perfectly. It’s such a shame as the hub itself was in near perfect condition and would have got 5 stars, but the wrong block meaning the product did not match description and poor customer service (No replies at all) brings this right down. Be warned.

I have tested with m2 pro and m2 max and it worked properly.

Had one at work. Got tired of unplugging everything from it to take home for three days a week. Decided to buy this renewed one. Works great, looks great. Have two 1440/75Hz DP screens connected, no problem Only complaint is about Dell design itself. Who in their un-right mind at Dell thought a pwr indicator light that can only been seen if lit is inside a closet was a good idea???

Product is good. Would do renewed again.
