I’ve tested a few mesh systems like the google nest WiFi pro, netgreak nighthawk and this tp-link deco mesh system. I wanted to like the nighthawks as I was a hardcore netgreat fan as I still own two working netgear nighthawks that are still performing well but really dated. If you are like me and want to try a mesh system in your house that is intuitive, powerful, gives you settings to play with and reliable then the tp-link deco is the way to go. The router blankets my home in reliable connection with an amazing range and great coverage. The app is easy to use and gone are the days of 192.168.1.1 to administer your router. The automatic firmware updates are even so reliable I never have to check for updates and be disappointed that the auto update didn’t automatically work like I did with my older netgear nighthawks.

To sum it all up: if you want reliable, fast, strong connection, in a beautiful small package then this is the mesh system for you. It reliably switches between accesspoints, it auto updates and if you are tech say and like to play with settings like me it has them.

I configured one of the units without problems and it is currently set as primary, however, I can configure and add the second unit to the network but it gets restarted like a minute after it connects to the primary deco.
The unit is broken as I tried to set it as primary connected to the modem but the same situation happens, it never start and keeps restarting, very disappointing.

I have a fairly medium sized home but the wifi signal would not make it into the bedroom or the in-law unit in the garage. This became a big problem when I switched from Xfinity to YoutubeTV. I purchased these after reading several reviews and they seemed great for the price. Installation was easy and the app walked you through the entire process. It has the ability to create your own network for your IOT devices so that was helpful for the Peleton, TVs, and Amazon Alexa’s through the house. I get full wifi service in all corners of my house now and the app has lots of cool features.

Tengo la misma velocidad de subida y bajada en el segundo nivel, la red 6g es una maravilla; lo recomiendo ampliamente, es muy fácil de configurar y la aplicación tiene muchas funciones de gran utilidad.

I bought the pair of Decos and one didn’t work as well as the other. I swapped the positions in the housse and they are operational.

I bought this unit to increase WiFi coverage to a low part of my house. Installation was easy. Even though this was a refurbished unit it looks brand new and it does what it was intended to do. Connected seamlessly. Very fast.

I have two houses I’ve set up TP-Link mesh systems in. They’re super easy to set up, easy to configure and provide coverage well. I like the dedicated wifi 6 backhaul and I have no issues getting the speeds on wifi that I get on the ethernet cable.

After setting up the unit (which was really easy) I found the wifi was running very slow. The Deco app was telling me there was a cabling issue. At first I thought it was the ethernet ports in my apartment, because I connected the Deco to my cable modem that way. So I did some test with different cables and moving the Deco to where the cable modem was located and connecting it directly to it and realized that the cable they gave me in the box was only a CAT 5 cable, as you can see in the picture. Because this was refurbished, I believe they might be putting generic cables in the box. Once I used CAT 6 cables, everything ran fast and it has been great! Hopefully this helps someone!

Needed something that would be the Wi-Fi leg of my opnsense router. Tried nest, Amazon’s router, amongst others. This is the only one that properly extends mesh acting like a AP but with a wireless back haul that actually works. What’s nice is having the ports on the back lets me connect to lan devices such as my printer and NAS in another room with ease.
